On January 7, the Cai Lay District Labor Federation (Tien Giang Province) held a conference to review trade union activities and the workers' and civil servants' movement in 2024 and deploy directions and tasks for 2025.
According to the report, in 2024, Cai Lay District Trade Union actively competed and achieved many remarkable results. 100% of agencies and units organized Conferences of civil servants, public employees, workers and Conferences of Workers in 2024; mobilized union members and workers to contribute to the Children's Protection Fund, the Gratitude Fund, and the Fund for the Poor with an amount of more than 1.3 billion VND.
The District Trade Union has organized the handover of 8 Trade Union Shelters to union members and workers with difficult housing circumstances. In addition, it organized 3 “Trade Union Meals” and established 3 new grassroots Trade Unions in the area.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Khac Tinh - Permanent Vice President of Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - requested that all levels of Trade Unions in Cai Lay district proactively advise and report to the leaders of Party committees and authorities at the same level to participate in Tet care activities of the Trade Union organization to encourage union members and workers, following the motto "All union members and workers have Tet".
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor also requested that all levels of the Labor Union in Cai Lay district proactively participate with employers to publicly and supervise the implementation of plans to pay wages, bonuses, working conditions, rest time, overtime, and other benefits, ensuring the rights of union members and employees; ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees when working overtime, working extra hours, and working during Tet.
On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Tien Giang Provincial Confederation of Labor and the Cai Lay District Confederation of Labor commended and rewarded 18 collectives and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in trade union activities in 2024.
