As one of 780 outstanding delegates, representing the will, aspirations and wisdom of nearly 10 million trade union members nationwide attending the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Mr. Do Tran Thinh brought many thoughts and expectations of union members and workers of An Giang sent to the congress.
An Giang delegates are particularly interested in taking care of social security and welfare for workers. According to Mr. Do Tran Thinh, in the context that the lives of union members and workers are still under a lot of pressure, the new term needs to have more practical programs on employment, income, housing, welfare, safe working conditions and a healthy working environment.
From the practical activities of trade unions in the locality, the Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation said that if a Trade Union is to be truly strong, trade union officials at all levels must be close to union members and workers. Each program and activity of the trade union needs to originate from the grassroots reality, from the issues that workers need and are waiting for.
The 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress is an important political event for the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization. The Congress not only summarizes and evaluates the results of trade union activities in the past term, but also identifies directions, goals, and tasks in the new period, when the requirements for innovation, digital transformation and technology adaptation are increasingly urgent.
With the responsibility of a delegate attending the Congress, Mr. Do Tran Thinh expressed his desire that opinions and aspirations from grassroots levels, from union members and workers will be listened to and absorbed, thereby concretizing them into appropriate and practical action programs.
Delegate Do Tran Thinh's expectations are also the common wishes of a large number of union members and workers in An Giang sent to the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour: A trade union organization closer to workers, stronger from the grassroots level and helping workers to be more steadfast in the face of the changes of the times.
