When donating blood, workers are still paid full salaries and receive additional support from companies and unions. Many workers have participated in blood donation more than 3 times/year, said Ms. Le Thi Xuan Huong - Chairwoman of the Tungho Steel Trade Union.
Recently, the voluntary blood donation campaign organized by the trade unions of industrial parks in Phu My City attracted more than 450 union members and workers. Blood donation reception is arranged to facilitate union members and workers' participation.
According to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Federation of Labor, since the beginning of the year, the union has coordinated with the Red Cross Society of localities to mobilize businesses, union members and workers to participate in voluntary blood donation. According to the plan, the Provincial Federation of Labor will organize about 4 voluntary blood donations, collecting more than 1,000 units of blood per year; in 2024 alone, more than 1,230 union members participated, receiving 1,102 units of blood. Trade unions at all levels also coordinate to organize many festivals and voluntary blood donation programs in the spirit of mutual love, spreading beautiful gestures in the community.
