Khánh Linh |

From the beginning of 2026 to now, trade union levels in Lang Son have newly established grassroots trade unions and professional unions with nearly 300 union members, contributing to expanding the organizational network and strengthening the protection of workers' rights.

Information from the Lang Son Provincial Labor Federation, trade union levels in the province have just established 1 new grassroots trade union with 12 members and 1 grassroots trade union with 264 members, contributing to expanding the Trade Union organization and gathering workers into the organization.

In which, the Mau Son loading and unloading grassroots trade union was announced with the decision to be established in early February 2026 with the participation of a large number of workers working in the field of loading and unloading, transporting goods in the area.

The union has 264 members, mainly freelance workers operating in the field of loading and unloading, transportation in the Mau Son area and neighboring areas. The establishment of the union aims to gather and unite freelance workers, helping them have legal representative organizations to protect their legitimate rights and interests.

According to the Lang Son Provincial Labor Federation, trade unions also play a bridge role between workers and trade union levels and local authorities, thereby promptly grasping thoughts and aspirations, and supporting workers when facing difficulties in work and life.

Talking to reporters, Ms. Hoang Ngoc Thuy - Vice President of Lang Son Provincial Labor Federation said that in 2026, trade union levels in the province set a target of developing about 1,000 new union members.

The development of union members and the establishment of grassroots trade unions in places with a large labor force continues to be identified as a key task. We strive to mobilize the establishment of grassroots trade unions in most units and businesses with 20 or more workers" - Ms. Thuy said.

Accordingly, in the coming time, trade union levels in the province will strengthen propaganda and mobilize workers to join the Trade Union organization, and at the same time coordinate with businesses and labor-using units to promote the establishment of grassroots trade unions and professional unions in areas and occupations with many workers but without representative organizations.

Previously, in 2025, the Labor Federation of Lang Son province focused on promoting union member development and establishing grassroots trade unions outside the state sector. In the year, the whole province newly established 11 grassroots trade unions outside the state sector with 25 or more workers, including 6 enterprises and 5 non-public non-business units.

Trade union levels also newly admitted 873 union members, reaching 72.6% of the assigned target. In which, the non-state sector has 438 union members and the state sector has 435 union members.

However, due to some businesses facing difficulties in production and business, in the year, 3 grassroots trade unions of enterprises dissolved and 11 grassroots trade unions of enterprises temporarily suspended operations.

In parallel with the work of developing union members, the Lang Son Provincial Labor Federation also implemented the arrangement and streamlining of the trade union apparatus according to the policies of the Central Government and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
