According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, in December 2025, the number of people submitting applications for unemployment benefits decreased compared to January (from 5,730 applications to 4,428 applications), and the number of people with decisions to receive unemployment benefits also decreased (from 5,660 to 5,066 cases).
Regarding the structure of workers receiving allowances, female workers continue to account for the majority with about 60% of the total number of people approved for payment, a slight increase compared to November 2025. Regarding age, the group of workers in the golden age group (from 25 to 40 years old) is still the group accounting for the largest proportion (accounting for 62.4%), showing that this group continues to be the most volatile in the market.
However, a notable trend is that the number of people receiving allowances in the age group over 40 continues to be high (accounting for 29.4%). This increase shows that job pressure is tending to spread to middle-aged workers, who are workers who are easily eliminated due to the pressure of information technology networks and the application of AI and automation in business work.
