On the morning of December 7, at the Tran Hung Dao National Special Relic Site (Tam Kim Commune, Nguyen Binh District, Cao Bang Province), a series of meaningful activities were held to pay tribute to families of policy beneficiaries, people with revolutionary contributions, union members and local people.
Before the main activities took place, the delegation led by Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) offered incense in memory of General Vo Nguyen Giap, expressing deep gratitude for the General's great contributions to the country.
Within the framework of the program, the delegates presented 80 gifts to representatives of policy families and people with revolutionary contributions. At the same time, local people were also examined for health, consulted and given free medicine, demonstrating practical concern for the lives of people in remote areas.
In order to improve infrastructure and people's lives, the National Defense Trade Union in collaboration with units such as Saigon Port Corporation, Army Corps 12, Army Corps 18 and TECAPRO Company presented 340 solar lamp posts within the framework of the program "Lighting up the countryside" in Mai Long, Quang Thanh and Thanh Cong communes. The total value of the project was over 565 million VND. In addition, the units also presented 160 gifts to policy families and poor students who have overcome difficulties.
Representatives of the People's Public Security Trade Union, Global Telecommunications Technology Corporation and leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation presented a canteen to students of Mai Long Primary School worth 350 million VND. In addition, the units also supported 2.5 tons of rice and medical supplies, worth 250 million VND in total.
The Vietnam Coal and Minerals Trade Union also donated public housing projects to union members in Mai Long commune with a total value of 3 billion VND. These are projects of practical significance, contributing to improving living and learning conditions for local people and students.
On the same day, the units coordinated to organize a workshop on “Improving the quality of grassroots trade union staff to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation”. The workshop focused on discussing solutions to improve the capacity of trade union staff, contributing to building a strong trade union organization in the current context.
The activities taking place at the Tran Hung Dao National Special Forest Relic Site demonstrate the gratitude and deep sharing of the units towards the people of the highlands, while affirming the role of the trade union organization in caring for the lives of workers and the community.
