According to the Can Tho City Employment Service Center, in August, the unit continued to play an important role in connecting labor supply and demand in the area, contributing to regulating the labor market.
The Center has implemented many measures, diversifying forms of job connection for businesses and workers registering to find jobs at the unit as well as through websites, telephones, emails, social networking sites, and job transaction activities organized in communes and wards.
During the month, the unit provided employment counseling, employment policies and vocational training for 31,635 people; introduced jobs at home and abroad for 2,489 people; provided domestic labor for 275 people. The city has 264 workers going abroad to work in the markets of Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Russia;...
Data from the Center's labor supply-demand connection results show that the number of workers consulted for employment increased by 12.82% compared to the previous month; the number of workers introduced for employment increased by 8.56% and the number of workers supplied to businesses for recruitment decreased by 5.36% compared to July 2026.
Although the number of counseling and job introductions has increased, the actual number of workers successfully supplied has decreased due to the structural supply-demand "dismatch".
Recruitment demand in August 2026 mainly focuses on general labor directly involved in production or skilled technical workers, while the available labor supply is quite abundant but lacks human resources to meet the professional technical skills or digital transformation required by businesses.
In addition, a part of workers are not ready to change careers to new fields or have a psychology of reluctance to work far from home, leading to the fact that although they are introduced to jobs, the success rate of supply is low.
In general, the labor market always has many job opportunities, but the biggest bottleneck still lies in the skill gap between job seekers and the actual requirements of employers.
