Ms. Nguyen Thi Bang, from Nghe An, a worker at Thang Long Industrial Park, shared that this was not the first time she had participated in the Tet Sum Vay program, but she was still moved when watching the teams compete in wrapping Chung cakes and arranging the five-fruit trays.

Ms. Bang said: “Watching my brothers and sisters fold dong leaves, measure rice bowls, arrange beans and meat to make banh chung filling, I feel like I am at home on the 29th of Tet. Every year, my parents wait for me to come back from Hanoi before wrapping banh chung. I wash the leaves, marinate the meat; my mother prepares rice and beans; my father and younger brother wrap the cakes.”

Although this was the first time attending Tet Sum vay, Mr. Nguyen Anh Van, a worker at Song Day Irrigation Development Investment Company Limited, also felt the same way as Ms. Bang, about the warm atmosphere of Tet in the family, the only difference is that this is a big family with many members who are union members and workers in difficult circumstances...

Attending the “Tet Sum Vay - Xuan On Party” event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (Ominsu Vietnam Co., Ltd., Cau Giay District Labor Federation) was the happiest person when she received the Special Prize in the lucky draw. Receiving a Yamaha motorbike worth more than 22 million VND, Ms. Hien was extremely surprised but did not forget to thank the Company, the Company's Trade Union for always supporting the Union, employees and especially for giving her the opportunity to participate in the program to receive the prize.

Answering the question of what she wishes for after receiving the Special Award, Ms. Hien expressed her hope that the Hanoi City Trade Union at all levels will continue to organize many meaningful and practical programs like this for the union, workers, especially union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

Joy not only came to union members and workers at the program “Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang” but also came from the “Tet Trade Union Market” with 120 booths of 80 enterprises. The Hanoi City Labor Federation supported more than 5,800 shopping vouchers (each voucher worth 500,000 VND) and 5,000 “0 VND” gifts with a total amount of 4.4 billion VND.

In addition, the City Labor Federation presented 6,200 shopping vouchers, each worth VND500,000, to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in districts far from the center.

Ms. Man Thi Quy, an environmental worker in Son Tay, was one of those who received a 500,000 VND shopping voucher. Very quickly, right after the opening of the “Union Tet Market”, she was able to buy many things for Tet. However, the most impressive thing for Ms. Quy was: “I saw Mr. Hoai and Mr. Khang going to the “Union Tet Market”. Mr. Hoai also bought things at the booth like us workers”!

About 70 billion VND to take care of Tet for employees

Speaking at the "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" event organized by the Hanoi City Labor Federation, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang expressed his joy to know that this year, a total of more than 103,000 union members and workers will be directly supported and cared for by the City Labor Federation and the grassroots trade unions with a total expected amount of nearly 70 billion VND (equivalent to 12% of the total number of employees, an increase of 2% compared to 2024).

The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor assessed that in 2024, the work of caring for union members and employees continued to be one of the bright spots in the overall picture of the Capital Trade Union, especially the care and support activities during the Lunar New Year. Promoting the spirit of dynamism and creativity along with the results and experiences of previous years, closely following the orientation and direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the City Trade Unions at all levels have proactively developed plans, mobilized resources, and actively innovated the content and methods of organizing activities to practically and effectively care for union members and employees.

On this occasion, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that in 2025, the Capital Trade Unions at all levels continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, effectively organize the implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congress and Trade Union Congresses at all levels, in which it is necessary to focus on implementing a number of contents well. One of them is to actively and proactively participate in the work of innovating and rearranging the organization of the political system according to Resolution No. 18 dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee.

Focus on developing a plan to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the City Labor Federation, industry unions, grassroots unions, affiliated public service units, and reorganize and restructure the team of full-time union officials according to the orientation and direction of the Hanoi Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Focus on better performing the function of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, employees, etc.
