Attending the meeting were leaders of the City Federation of Labor's specialized committees, representatives of the direct superior union leaders, heads of agencies, commanders of units under Division 5 and over 200 female workers, civil servants and employees of the city, officers and soldiers of Division 5.
At the Program, union officials and female workers and employees of the city, along with participants, watched a film about the female workers and employees movement of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and a report summarizing the history and tradition of the Heroic 5th Division.
Division 5 was established on November 23, 1965, one of the two first divisions established on the Southeast battlefield during the resistance war against America to save the country.
Today, officers and soldiers of Division 5 continue the tradition of the Heroic People's Armed Forces through many meaningful activities. Thereby, they arouse traditions, promote responsibility, proactiveness, creativity, self-reliance in studying and working, excellently complete all assigned tasks, and embellish the tradition of the Division, twice the Heroic People's Armed Forces in the new era...
During the program, female workers and civil servants of the City also visited the relic site of the Southern Central Bureau; visited the Traditional House of Division 5; barracks, production areas, and training tours... The content of the program is practical, not only providing knowledge and understanding of a heroic unit but also strengthening the feelings of sharing and solidarity between workers and civil servants and officers and soldiers.
The program "A day with soldiers" was organized to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), the 59th anniversary of the 5th Division's Traditional Day (November 23, 1965 - November 23, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the twinning between the two units. It is a commemorative activity, but it is very meaningful, especially for union members and workers.
According to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, the city's workers and civil servants are deeply aware that the development of each agency, organization, and enterprise is not only based on the foundation of labor but also needs the strong protection of the Vietnam People's Army. The achievements of the workers and civil servants are guaranteed by the silent and tireless sacrifices of the officers and soldiers working at Division 5, Military Region 7 in particular and the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army in general.
