According to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), in 2024, the sector achieved many important results. In particular, the outstanding achievement was the consultation on the development and submission to the Government for submission to the 15th National Assembly for approval of the Law on Social Insurance (amended), with an approval rate of 93.42%.

Along with the recovery and development of economic sectors, the labor market has been focused on operating in a modern, flexible and integrated direction. The connection between labor supply and demand has been strengthened, helping workers find jobs more easily. The pilot implementation of a national online job exchange helps strengthen the connection between workers and businesses. The employment situation and income of workers have improved compared to the same period in 2023.
In 2024, the activity of sending workers abroad will recover strongly, sending 150,000 people to work abroad - the highest level since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. Preferential policies and regimes for people with revolutionary contributions, social assistance, social insurance, unemployment insurance, poverty reduction, care for the elderly and children in special circumstances will be fully and promptly implemented. Vietnam has been invited to become a founding member of the Global Alliance to Fight Poverty and officially joined the Alliance from November 2024.
Regarding institutional improvement, policy and law development, in 2024, according to the work program of the Government and the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs was assigned to implement 33 projects; to date, 24 projects have been completed, and 15 more projects are expected to be submitted...
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said that the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has made great efforts to build a harmonious labor market and labor relations, which are suitable for Vietnam's conditions and in line with international practices. Building a minimum wage policy is a very important task, recognizing the remarkable development of the Vietnamese labor market.

The current achievements are a process of which the results of 2024 are only a part. The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the efforts of the industry throughout the history of formation and development of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Regarding the direction for 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that there are 3 events that must be done at the same time: Arranging and organizing the apparatus; Party Congresses at all levels towards the National Party Congress; maintaining economic growth of over 7% to create momentum for the following years.
“With that spirit, we request that each official of the industry strictly comply with the arrangement. Because the policies that have been and are being implemented, especially the achievements that the industry has made up to now, are asymptotic developments and are increasingly being raised to new heights. We try to maintain, absorb and pass on so that there is no interruption regardless of the agency or organization,” Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized.
