Diversified forms of operation
According to Mr. Vo Manh Son - Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, identifying the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions as the top priority tasks, therefore, from the beginning of 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor has developed a plan, coordinated with the sectors to survey the number of workers in the whole province, from which to propose a specific plan to develop new union members.
Along with that, Thanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union focuses on widely disseminating the work of developing union members at grassroots and industry trade unions. In particular, a special working group on developing union members was established, thereby grasping the situation of organizations representing workers in enterprises; diversifying types, innovating methods to provide appropriate solutions, promoting the establishment of grassroots trade unions according to sectors and industries.
“The highlight and also the new point in the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in 2024 is: Thanh Hoa Provincial Trade Unions at all levels have implemented and deployed the establishment of flexible grassroots unions and grassroots trade unions to adapt to the organizational model and production and business activities of small and medium enterprises and professional associations” - Mr. Vo Manh Son shared.
The Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor added that in order to achieve high results in developing union members and establishing grassroots unions, the unit has issued Resolution No. 02/NQ-LDLD on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions (period 2023-2028); building a plan to develop union members and establish grassroots unions in 2024. Organizing 2 working delegations to study experiences in establishing unions in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Quang Ninh.
In that spirit, recently, the trade unions of districts, towns and cities in the province have announced many decisions to establish grassroots trade unions by profession such as: Fisheries trade unions, private preschool trade unions, garment processing trade unions, bronze casting trade unions...
Develop tens of thousands of new members
By the end of September 2024, Thanh Hoa province had established 101 new grassroots trade unions and trade unions, developed more than 19,500 new union members, and updated 97% of union members' information on the union member management software. Currently, trade unions at all levels in the province are continuing to closely coordinate with all levels and sectors to propagate and promote the establishment of grassroots trade union organizations.
According to the representative of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, the establishment of professional unions in recent times has achieved positive results. This is also an important stepping stone, creating a strong driving force in the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in the area in the coming time.
The unit will continue to implement the Project "Innovation in trade union operation methods in the province, period 2021-2025", focusing on innovating content, diversifying the organization of movements to improve the quality of trade union activities at all levels, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
Focus on improving the quality of activities of trade union officials at all levels, especially chairmen of trade unions at non-state enterprises, key trade union officials, and new officials.
In the last 3 months of 2024, Thanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union will further promote the work of developing union members, establishing non-state grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions, in order to complete and exceed the annual target. In addition, it will strengthen the introduction and training of outstanding union members for the Party to consider and admit.
