On the afternoon of December 12, after a working day, the 8th Conference of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) (term XIII) completed the proposed program.
Speaking at the closing session of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor noted that there are only a few days left until the end of 2025, the workload to be done is very large, in addition to regular tasks, focusing on the work program and plan.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that the delegates focus on directing a number of tasks, including successfully organizing the Provincial and Sectoral Trade Union Congresses, ensuring progress time. Focus on developing the content of documents submitted to the Congress; concretize new policies of the Party, especially the Documents of the Provincial and Municipal Party Congresses, the Documents of the 14th National Party Congress in the draft contents to be submitted to the Congress.
Implement the widely collected comments of union officials, union members, workers and people of all walks of life on the content of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Draft amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, ensuring that the contents submitted to the Congress are a crystallization of the intelligence, enthusiasm, expressing the will and determination to act of union officials, union members and workers.
Strengthen coordination and consultation with Party committees at all levels to gradually remove difficulties and obstacles related to the operation of the organizational model, apparatus, personnel payroll, functions, tasks, etc., to ensure that it meets the requirements of practice.
In addition, coordinate inspection and supervision of compliance with labor laws and policies for employees on wages and bonuses. Timely grasp the labor relations situation, especially during the Lunar New Year 2026; proactively propose and coordinate with competent authorities to effectively handle problems arising in practice, prevent and participate in resolving labor disputes and collective work stoppages. Organize a good union year's meal at the grassroots union level, carry out activities to care for the interests and practical welfare of union members and workers on the occasion of Lunar New Year with the motto that all union members and workers have Tet and enjoy Tet.
Along with that, it is necessary to innovate the content and methods of operation in accordance with the new organizational model. Identify key tasks to prioritize implementation, avoid spreading; continue to orient and guide grassroots trade unions to innovate the content and methods of operation, focus on proactiveness in developing plans, activity programs, inspection and evaluation mechanisms. Pay attention to building a team of union officials who are streamlined, capable, and qualified to meet requirements and tasks.
Focus on implementing well solutions to promote the development of union members, establish grassroots unions; advise Party committees, coordinate with local authorities and unions to deploy effective models and solutions, innovate propaganda and mobilization work to organize the Peak Month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions and introducing outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of training and admission. Maintain regular meetings on the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions to promptly grasp and resolve difficulties and problems in the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions.
The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor suggested that delegates effectively implement the emulation movement "The whole country competes enthusiastically for innovation and digital transformation" and " scultural education in digital skills in trade unions at all levels", "Promoting the development of synchronous and modern infrastructure, practicing thrift, fighting waste" ... associated with the specific implementation of each sector, locality, agency, unit and enterprise, creating new momentum for socio-economic development.
Emulate innovation, improve the quality and influence of emulation movements launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to create a widespread, practical and effective emulation environment. Focus on launching and implementing the "Digital Initiative" program in union members and workers resolutely and effectively.
According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, each union cadre must be aware of being the leader in implementing, creating an example to spread, attract, encourage and promote the movement.
Trade unions at all levels need to step up information and propaganda work; fight, handle promptly, effectively counter the luanences and distorted information of hostile forces to sabotage the Party and State, sabotage the Trade Union organization; launch and organize union members and workers to actively study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style on the will to self-reliance, self-strengthening and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.
