Ms. Le Thi Hoa - a worker working at Daiwa Vietnam Co., Ltd., said she was very happy to hear information about the proposal to increase the regional minimum wage, expected to increase by 7.8% from the beginning of 2027.
Many people think that an increase of a few hundred thousand VND per month is insignificant. But for workers like Ms. Hoa, it is money for milk for children, electricity, gasoline or a part of the family's living expenses. In the context that prices of many goods are still high, any increase in income is precious because it helps them somewhat reduce pressure in life.
As a trade union member, I am very grateful to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Trade Union representatives in the National Wage Council for trying to give workers like us an extra income. Every time wages are increased, we have more faith in the Trade Union organization" - Ms. Hoa said.
According to Ms. Hoa, in addition to salaries, in the past time, she and her colleagues have also received a lot of attention from the Trade Union such as Tet gifts, sickness support, "Trade Union Meals", health check-ups, discount programs for union members... These actions make her feel not alone because there is always a Trade Union organization standing by to promptly support and encourage her.
I personally think that when income is improved, workers will also have more motivation to work better. We work more responsibly, try to improve our skills to work better. I hope that after the Government officially promulgates new salary levels, businesses will fully implement them so that workers can soon enjoy them. I also hope that in the coming years, if economic conditions are better, salaries will continue to be adjusted so that workers have an increasingly stable life" - Ms. Hoa said.
