Mr. Nguyen Van Tan - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Hosiden Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Bac Ninh province):
The country has become relatively developed, therefore, I hope Vietnamese workers (NLD) will have more holidays during the year. Recently, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, in which it unanimously chose November 24th every year as "Vietnamese Cultural Day", with the policy of holidays, NLD is entitled to full salary. This is very good news for NLD.
Currently, the number of days off for Vietnamese workers is still low compared to the general level of countries in Asia. Having more days off will help workers have time to rest, regenerate labor; have more time with their families to increase the bond between members.
In addition to more days off, I also hope that workers will enjoy more policies and better regimes to help them ensure income and increase the quality of life both materially and spiritually.
Ms. Do Thi Hien - environmental sanitation worker at Bac Giang Urban Works Management Joint Stock Company (Bac Ninh province):
As a direct worker, and also a party member, I am very excited and look forward to the 14th National Congress of the Party. I hope and expect that in the next term, the Party will continue to have more policies and decisions to have more jobs for workers, increase wages, income, and working conditions for workers, especially for workers working in a heavy and hazardous environment.
I hope the Party will have directions to help public services enhance their role and position further. From there, they will serve the community better, including improving environmental sanitation, urban embellishment and the lives of workers in the public service sector will also be improved.
MSc Nguyen Ngoc Chien - Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union (CDCS) of Binh Duong University:
I expect the 14th National Party Congress to make breakthrough and practical decisions, focusing on improving material life (social housing, schools for workers' children), spiritual life (cultural institutions), social security and better policies to ensure workers' stability, peace of mind to work, and promote socio-economic development.
Working in the field of education, I especially hope that our Party will have more policies to pay more attention to the education sector, especially in remote, isolated, and difficult areas; pay more attention to the teaching staff so that they can feel secure in their work, promote their intelligence and love for the profession, contributing to building a developed Vietnamese education system.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Chi - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of New Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Co., Ltd.:
In my role as a grassroots trade union official, I expect the 14th National Congress of the Party to continue to pay more attention to the jobs, income and real life of workers. I hope the Party will have more practical policies on housing, welfare, and a safe working environment, helping workers feel secure and attached for a long time.
Employees need to be trained and improve their skills and digital skills to adapt to new requirements, not to be left behind. I expect the role of the Trade Union organization to continue to be promoted more clearly, operating close to the grassroots level, truly being a support for union members. I believe that the 14th Party Congress will select a leadership team with enough heart, enough stature, with policies close to the people, feasible, contributing to improving the lives of workers and sustainable national development.
