Go from Quang Binh to Hanoi for help
In order to improve their family's economy, many workers in Quang Binh have paid hundreds of millions of VND to HTP Trade, Tourism and Labor Supply Company Limited (HTP Company) to be able to go to work abroad in New Zealand. The money has been paid but they have not been able to go abroad yet, when they went to ask for the money, the company representative did not return it...
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ha (born in 1983, Loc Ninh ward, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province) said: "Through work, I got to know Ms. Chung Thi Hoa - Director of HTP Company (No. 12 Sa Doi street, Dai Mo ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi).
Ms. Hoa often bragged to me that she had helped many people go to work abroad in Korea, New Zealand and European countries. Because I trusted Ms. Hoa, I paid money to HTP Company many times - a total of 553 million VND - to go work abroad in New Zealand. I transferred the full amount on December 8, 2023 and HTP Company promised that after 1 month I would be able to leave the country.
However, after 1 month, Mr. Ha did not see any notice from the company, so he contacted Ms. Hoa many times, but the Director of HTP Company always promised and gave many reasons to postpone his departure. By April 2024, Mr. Ha saw that his visa had expired, but HTP Company still did not make any move. He was so impatient that he traveled from Quang Binh to Hanoi several times to claim the money he had paid to HTP Company, but Ms. Hoa refused to pay and challenged him.
Through discussion, Mr. Ha said that to have the money to pay into HTP Company, he had to borrow from relatives, banks and "loan sharks"!
In April-May 2023, Ms. Doan Thi My Ngoc (Quan Hau town, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province) - representing 11 workers, deposited VND 287,000,000 to HTP Company to be able to go to work abroad in New Zealand and Korea. However, when the departure date came, she was still not allowed to go, so Ms. Ngoc asked HTP Company to return the deposit and the company returned VND 50,000,000; Ms. Ngoc repeatedly requested to return the remaining VND 237,000,000, but Ms. Chung Thi Hoa still delayed the payment.
Because Ms. Ngoc was seriously ill, Mr. Nguyen Pham Le Giang - Ms. Ngoc's husband - and Mr. Ha from Quang Binh came to Lao Dong Newspaper to ask for help.
“Because they were not allowed to work abroad, 11 workers continuously came to my house to demand their deposit. Although my family explained to them that the deposit had been paid to Ms. Chung Thi Hoa - Director of HTP Company and we contacted them many times by phone and went to Hanoi to demand it, but Ms. Hoa did not return it, but they still did not agree, so my family had to borrow money to pay it back gradually. Currently, my wife is seriously ill, while my wife and I have to raise 4 children to study, so our situation is very difficult,” Mr. Giang sadly shared.
HTP Company is not licensed to send workers abroad.
After receiving feedback from workers, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters went to No. 12 Sa Doi Street, Dai Mo Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi City to meet Ms. Chung Thi Hoa, but currently all "traces" of HTP Company are no longer here.
Through asking the people living nearby, it was learned that HTP Company used to operate at 12 Sa Doi Street and that recently many people came to find the company's leaders to demand money. After that, the company removed the sign and moved to an unknown location.
PV contacted Ms. Chung Thi Hoa's phone number 03383619xx - recorded on the "Order Deposit Contract" between the employee representative and the HTP Company representative, but could not be contacted.
Next, the worker provided the reporter with the phone number 09856289xx, which they often call Ms. Chung Thi Hoa to demand money. When the reporter contacted her, the woman who answered the phone declined, saying that she was not Ms. Hoa and suggested that if the reporter wanted to verify the information, they should... go to the Nam Tu Liem District Police.
Speaking to reporters, a representative of the Department of Overseas Labor Management (Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs) said that HTP Company (No. 12 Sa Doi Street, Dai Mo Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi) was not granted a license to send people to work abroad!
On October 31, Mr. Ha and Mr. Giang said over the phone that the families' already difficult circumstances had become even more difficult, and now they were flooded due to the impact of storm No. 6 - Tra Mi.
