At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU), the USSH Open Day 2026 Job Fair attracted dozens of businesses to participate in recruitment with many full-time and part-time positions.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, representatives of many businesses said that the current recruitment requirements no longer put too much emphasis on work experience.
Instead, what employers are more interested in is the attitude, learning ability, soft skills and adaptability to a rapidly changing working environment.

According to Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong - Director of 3D Art Design Consulting and Technology Solutions Company, it is difficult for new graduates to immediately have practical experience. Therefore, businesses consider the first 1-2 years of working as a period for young people to accumulate skills and improve themselves, but still receive salaries as committed.

New graduates clearly do not have much practical work experience, so the most important thing for me is my receptive attitude, eagerness to learn and determination to conquer the knowledge that I have not yet grasped," Mr. Phuong emphasized.
If previously businesses mainly sought expertise, now soft skills and adaptability are considered a major advantage for young workers.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, human resources specialist of Sao Viet Telecommunications Development Co., Ltd., said that young workers in general and new graduates in particular have advantages in their ability to adapt quickly to market changes, creative thinking and the ability to update new trends.

According to Ms. Thuy, requiring new graduates to have experience in equivalent positions is quite difficult. Therefore, businesses prioritize creating opportunities for candidates to try their hand, get acquainted and accumulate experience in the job they choose.
Instead of work experience, we value skills such as communication, teamwork, office informatics, along with a serious and proactive working attitude in work," Ms. Thuy shared.
Similarly, Ms. Dong Thi Phuong Anh, Director of Ocean Connect Human Resource Supply Co., Ltd. also said that the requirements for young workers today have changed significantly as many businesses apply digital technology and data in operation.

In the financial - banking sector, we need young workers who can read and analyze data quickly. The ability to use technology is part of it, but more important is analytical thinking and problem-assessment ability," the director said.
In addition, representatives of businesses also said that there is currently a fairly clear differentiation between young workers. One group has the ability to self-study, be proactive, and know how to plan and implement work.
Conversely, there are still those who lack work handling skills, are confused when encountering new situations and have not recognized their weaknesses to improve. These are limitations that make candidates easily lose points in the eyes of employers.
