The Vietnam Education Trade Union (VTC) said that in recent years, occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting (ATVSLD-PCCN), and environmental protection have been effectively organized by the trade unions of affiliated units in coordination with the professional sector, ensuring that there are no occupational accidents or fires.
Accordingly, to implement the Law on Labor Safety and Hygiene 2015; Directive 04/CT-TLD dated March 3, 2017 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to implement the contents of occupational safety and health work and the emulation movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", every year, the Trade Union issues a document directing the trade unions of units to develop a plan to organize the Action Month on occupational safety and health and environmental activities.
The Trade Union focuses on directing units to effectively implement the "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene" movement, associated with the criteria for building safe and happy schools. The units have planted trees; organized Green Labor Day, Environmental Sanitation Week, waste classification, and single-use plastic reduction; landscape improvement, construction of hygiene works, friendly school grounds; organized training on fire prevention and fighting skills, first aid; periodic inspection of electricity, water, facilities, necessary equipment to ensure safety for practice workshops, laboratories, etc.
Pay attention to disease prevention, prevention of work-related accidents and occupational diseases; ensure health, improve the material and spiritual life of employees. Many schools have become model points, contributing to building a beautiful image of Vietnamese schools in the renovation period.
The trade unions of the units have implemented the movement in creative forms, in line with the practical situation of the unit, bringing practical results to employees such as the movement "Building Green - Clean - Beautiful workplaces" according to the 5 S criteria; annually organizing training courses on fire prevention and fighting (PCCN); equipping labor protection equipment in workplaces, laboratories...; proactively coordinating with the professional organization to implement the "National Week on occupational safety and hygiene, occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting", "World Environmental Day"; every year, perfecting the organization of the occupational safety and health Committee, occupational safety network and organizing a launching ceremony in response to Workers' Month, Labor Safety and Hygiene Project Management Month; establish a network of occupational safety and hygiene at the units. The number of occupational safety and hygiene workers by June 2025 is 232 people.
The Steering Committee for occupational safety and health at universities, colleges, pedagogical colleges and affiliated units has conducted a good periodic and regular inspection of occupational safety and health work to prevent occupational accidents from occurring during teaching, scientific research, production, school construction, organization of experimental practice and learning.
