The Trade Union of Ha Phong Garment Export Joint Stock Company (Bac Ninh province) has 4 trade union stores selling original prices to union members and employees. This model has been maintained for 15 years and serves about 1,000 union members and employees per day.
Ms. Ngo Thi Mai - a worker at the company shared: "After lunch, my colleagues and I often stop by the store to buy snacks and drinks. The price of drinks at the store is cheaper outside, very convenient for workers, and ensures quality due to careful input inspection, so I am very assured".
Although not available, if workers want to buy food and household appliances, they can register through the store and will be able to buy at a lower price than buying outside the market.
Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Ha - Chairwoman of the Company's Trade Union said that the trade union's stores provide essential goods, contributing to reducing living expenses and improving the lives of employees. Although there is not much opening time during the day, the shop attracts quite a large number of workers and laborers.
In addition, the company's Trade Union is authorized by the company to manage the collective kitchen, regularly monitor the quality of meals, ensure adequate nutrition, safety, and hygiene. From 2024, the cafeteria will add 650 improved meals per day, rich in dishes, contributing to improving the health and satisfaction of employees.
In the two years 2023-2024, the company will organize 2 union meals each year, with a total budget of over 854 million VND/year, of which the union contributes 581 million VND, the enterprise supports 273 million VND. At the "Union Meal" program on July 29, 2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor presented 15 gifts (15 million VND) to workers in difficult circumstances; the Company's Trade Union presented 20 gifts, each worth 800,000 VND to children of union members in difficult circumstances who have achieved excellent academic results.
According to statistics from the Bac Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor, from 2023-2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor has directed 2,256 grassroots unions to coordinate with heads of agencies, units and enterprises to organize union meals with a total value of over 38.298 billion VND. Through organizing union meals, it creates a joyful and cohesive atmosphere, further strengthening the trust of union members, employees, and enterprises in the union organization, contributing to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
The Bac Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor has supported 122 units and employees with funding to build new and repair houses from the "Union Shelter" Fund with a total amount of VND4.715 billion.
Along with that, organize for thousands of workers, civil servants, and laborers in difficult circumstances to borrow capital from the National Employment Fund and the Trade Union Shelter Fund; contribute to increasing income and stabilizing the family economy. The Provincial Federation of Labor also implemented 99 cooperation agreements with partners on welfare programs, preferential sales, and discounts from 5% - 50%, contributing to improving the lives of union members and employees.
