Giving Ao Dai to female workers in difficult circumstances
81 workers at Winzen Knitwear Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Quang Tri town) have just been officially admitted to the Trade Union. Along with the establishment of the grassroots trade union (CDCS) with a provisional executive committee of 5 people, the Provincial Federation of Labor presented 10 gifts (500 thousand VND/gift) and more than 50 sets of ao dai to female workers of the enterprise.
These ao dai were donated by members of the Quang Tri Telecommunications Trade Union, then received by the Provincial Federation of Labor and transferred to Quang Tri town according to the proposal of the Town Federation of Labor to give to the female workers.
Ms. Le Thi Diem Chau, temporary union president of Winzen Knitwear Vietnam Co., Ltd., emotionally said: Ao Dai sets are very beautiful, many women have never had ao dai because they have to save money. Thanks to this meaningful gift, women have clothes to wear during holidays, Tet or collective activities. Everyone is happy and appreciates the attention from the Union.
Previously, the Hai Lang District Labor Federation also organized the presentation of 100 sets of ao dai to female workers of Toms Textile Company Limited.
Extending the "Ao Dai Tinh Yeu" program
Initiated in 2021, the "Ao Dai Tinh Yeu" program has become one of the highlight activities of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor during Workers' Month and major holidays. Over the past 4 years of implementation, the program has received and donated more than 5,000 sets of Ao Dai, most of which were given to female workers in enterprises, disadvantaged areas, and industrial parks.
Ms. Le Thi Quang Son, Head of the Provincial Federation of Labor's Professional Affairs Department, said that this year, during Workers' Month alone, the Provincial Federation of Labor mobilized 500 sets of ao dai. After receiving the goods, the female workers will classify, launder, record the measurements and package them to the Trade Unions to give to those in need.
Behind each ao dai is a journey of spreading love from the heart of the giver, the care of the campaign to the smile of the recipient. Many female workers shared that, for a long time, due to priority for their family and children, they have never bought their ao dai. Now that they are received, they feel like they are motivated and accompanied by Trade Union.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor, emphasized that Ao Dai is not only a traditional costume but also carries the cultural values, dignity and self-respect of Vietnamese women.
"We hope that the program will not only stop at material value but also contribute to preserving and promoting the national cultural identity of female employees," said Ms. Ha.
