A gift more than material
On July 28, on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Mr. Do Tran Thinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - led a working delegation to directly visit the income and employment situation of workers and production and business units at 5 units with a large number of workers in Binh Hoa Industrial Park and Binh Duc Ward, including: An Giang Water Power Joint Stock Company, An Giang Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company, An Giang Samho Company Limited, Spectre An Giang Vietnam Garment Technology Company Limited, Universal Apparel Company Limited.
At each location, the delegation visited and presented gifts of 20 gifts (1 million VND/person) to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, who had work accidents or occupational diseases. In the context of many fluctuations in life and employment as at present, this support is very meaningful. Ms. Le Thi Loan, An Giang Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company, shared: Due to reduced orders, occasional reductions in working days, income is only over 5 million VND/month, so we are very happy to receive support of 1 million VND from the Trade Union organization.
Even employees in enterprises with good incomes feel happy. With an average income of 8-12 million VND/person/month, Spectre An Giang Garment Technology Co., Ltd. is considered a place with a high income for workers in Binh Hoa Industrial Park, but workers here are very happy to receive gifts from the union. Mr. Nguyen Hao Kiet - Director of the Company - shared: "For many employees at the company, today's gift is more valuable than material things, because it was personally given by the leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor on the day of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor".
Create motivation to overcome difficulties
This is the first working visit to a business in the former An Giang province by Mr. Do Tran Thinh as Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor after the merger, but has immediately created a positive effect for both employees and employers.
Not only proactively organizing a visit with minimalist rituals... to take advantage of the shortest time possible to go into the main issue, at each place he visited, Mr. Thinh stood right at the meeting place, facing the employees sitting to discuss, confide and share about the difficulties of life and work... This approach of the head of the An Giang Trade Union organization has brought employees and employers a friendly and close feeling.
After mentioning the difficulties affecting production and business, Mr. Thinh analyzed that these impacts are only temporary and can be completely minimized if we know how to increase competitiveness by lowering production costs, improving the quality of goods and services... From that analysis, Mr. Thinh pointed out: "The Trade Union organization always cares about and cares for workers to work with peace of mind with a creative spirit, which will contribute significantly to helping the unit and enterprise overcome difficulties".
Appreciating the sincerity, Ms. Liu Jinning - General Director of Universal Apparel Company Limited - said: "At this time, the agencies are very busy with the merger, but the leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor still spend time coming here to visit and give gifts to motivate employees... we recognize and consider this as a source of energy to strongly overcome difficulties and rise up".
