EVN has just released a consolidated financial report that has been audited in 2024. After many years of losses, EVN's financial situation has had positive results.

According to the audited consolidated financial statements of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the group's consolidated revenue in 2024 will reach VND 580,537 billion. After deducting expenses, EVN recorded after-tax profit of more than VND 8,237 billion, while in 2023, it lost VND 26,772 billion. Of which, the profit after tax of parent company shareholders is more than VND 7,222 billion.

In 2024, EVN also increased investment, with total investment capital reaching VND 102,702 billion, nearly 4 times higher than last year.

Notably, the National Assembly passed a resolution in November 2024, allowing the continued implementation of the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant Project. At the time of reporting, EVN was in the process of preparing to restart this key project. By the end of 2024, EVN has invested more than 1,300 billion VND in the project.

Previously, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that the completion time of the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant Project must be shortened compared to the previously expected, by December 31, 2021 at the latest and striving to complete before December 31, 2030 on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the founding of the country and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party. Ministries, branches, localities and agencies must build progress vehicles according to this goal.

The Prime Minister assigned EVN to be the investor of the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant project, and the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group to be the investor of the Ninh Thuan 2 Nuclear Power Plant project.

Regarding the selection of foreign partners to participate in the project, the Prime Minister stated that, implementing the Conclusion of the Central Government, the Resolution of the National Assembly, and the direction of the Politburo; requested the Vietnam Electricity Group, the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group and agencies to send delegations to negotiate with foreign partners in February, paying attention to having reserve partners to be ready in all situations.

The determination of the scale, capacity, and total investment of factories is determined on the basis of negotiations with partners and updated in accordance with the new situation, thereby competent authorities considering and deciding.

Regarding human resources, the Prime Minister requested to urgently review and gather those who have been trained in the field of nuclear power and related fields, provide additional training and have mechanisms and policies to attract human resources, including paying attention to the commander-in-chief and general contractor of the project.
