Initiative to reduce gas volume
Notable among the initiatives that young engineer Dang Tung Lam contributed to the company is the Improvement of the aluminum alloy heating system in the H129.5mm aluminum wire production line.
describing this initiative, Mr. Lam said that the aluminum alloy heating system in the H129,5mm aluminum wire production line is one of the very important steps to determine the quality of the product.
Previously, this system was rolled in an aluminum rolling casting line using the old heating method burned with gas incinerators. As a result, the cast iron temperature is unstable, and high gas consumption leads to high costs. Due to poor heating efficiency, the productivity of aluminum rolling machines is not high.
"From this limitation, my colleagues and I have researched and proposed solutions to use a valve system to adjust and balance gas and an off-valve system to ensure safety conditions when burning. After the gas has fully met safety conditions, the gas is put into the mixer to create a gas and wind flow before being supplied to the 3 incinerators of the 3 aluminum alloy thermal chambers, said the author.
This system, after being improved, has removed gas fans and replaced them with 3 incinerator heads. The air brought to the incinerator has been mixed between gas and air into a flammable mixture of gas thanks to the mixer to minimize excess gas. The gas supply is through adjustment valves and pressure difference valves with conditions to ensure safety when using the system.
After being applied at the aluminum rolling foundry, the initiative has brought clear results. By increasing the capacity of high-pressure pumps, it has actually saved 54 stops of machines to replace the rolling ones and repair the rolling ones in 2023, equivalent to a value of about 37 million VND.
Reducing the replacement of rollers also reduces the amount of waste generated during the production process, about 432 tons of waste/year. Meanwhile, each ton of waste requires about 35kg of LPG to be reused for cooking, with an additional cooking cost of 362 million VND/year. Along with actual profits, the initiative brings economic efficiency of more than 1.2 billion VND/year.
Honored to receive the first Creative Labor Certificate
The initiative to improve the heating system of aluminum cast iron bars in the H129.5mm aluminum wire production line was accepted by the sang tao council of LS Vina Cable and System Joint Stock Company and effectively applied; the company recognized and rewarded in 2024. This initiative also helped young engineer Dang Tung Lam receive the Creative Labor Certificate from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the first time.
Working in an environment suitable for the Mechanical Engineering major studied at Hai Phong University helps me develop my capacity and strengths, and apply my knowledge to production practice. Not to mention, the movement to promote initiatives and improve techniques at LS - Vina Company is very vibrant, creating an every day task of every cadre, engineer and worker. This motivates young people like us to be more responsible, proactively cultivate knowledge and experience, master machinery and equipment as well as pioneer and volunteer in movements, participate in contributing ideas and improvements. Thereby, contributing to improving labor productivity and improving working conditions" - said engineer Dang Tung Lam.
