Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong affirmed that in recent times, Lao Dong Newspaper has been very proactive in applying information technology, contributing significantly to the implementation of digital transformation in the Trade Union system. Typically, the digital transformation rating of Lao Dong Newspaper in 2024 increased by 2 ranks compared to 2023, achieving excellent quality, ranking First among central press agencies.
In particular, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the first issue (1929-2024), Lao Dong Newspaper launched the English version of Lao Dong electronic newspaper with artificial intelligence (AI) translation technology, implementing the orientation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on expanding information to international friends. This is an AI designed and programmed by the newspaper, guaranteed to be translated into over 130 languages and can be published simultaneously with the Vietnamese version, estimated to save 3.5 billion VND/year.
In addition, Lao Dong Newspaper has more and more articles reflecting the lives and jobs of union members and workers in general, female union members and female workers in particular. Most recently, the card line lacking playgrounds in boarding houses for workers' children is an example. The article reflects the reporter going to the boarding houses, coming to the workers, including the workers' children to record and grasp information about the current shortage of playgrounds, so the workers' children have to accept playing in places with potential safety risks.

Along with that, Lao Dong Newspaper needs to further promote its role as a leading press agency in disseminating policies and laws related to labor relations, employment, occupational safety and hygiene, legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. Proactively coordinate with competent agencies, departments and units of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to build a website and section on labor law, highlighting the role of trade unions in preventing and resolving labor disputes to protect workers' rights before the law.
Lao Dong Newspaper also needs to focus on disseminating activities to inspect compliance with the law in the field of labor and employment, as well as fighting against violations of the legitimate rights and interests of workers. At the same time, it is necessary to introduce typical models and cases, contributing to raising awareness of law compliance of both employers and employees.
