Timely and practical sharing
In the early days of April, information that a business in Da Nang - Hitech Vietnam Apparel Co., Ltd. (a unit with a trade union directly under Duy Xuyen Commune Trade Union) supported gasoline money for more than 2,000 union members and workers attracted the attention of many people. It is worth mentioning that this decision was made in the context that Hitech Vietnam Apparel Co., Ltd. is also under pressure from raw material and operation costs.
Not just one business, many other units in the area also implement similar policies. In some places, typically Celebrity Fashion Vina Co., Ltd. (located in Tam Thang Industrial Park, with a grassroots trade union directly under Ban Thach Ward Trade Union) has supported gasoline money for 1,000 workers with the amount of 200,000 VND/worker; in some places, they maintain allowances and flexibly supplement additional non-regular support when the market fluctuates.
These supports show a very noteworthy approach that businesses care for employees not just with fixed policies, but need to be flexible according to real life. That is how businesses accompany employees in each specific period, not just caring according to the "year plan".
With this practical approach, Thuyen Nguyen Import-Export Co., Ltd., Quang Ngai province has implemented and supported a total cost of 780 million VND in gasoline for union members and workers.
The Board of Directors of Thuyen Nguyen Import-Export Co., Ltd. has implemented a gasoline support policy with a level of 200,000 VND/person/month for all officials, union members, and employees. The application period is from April to the end of June 2026. With a total of 1,300 officials, union members, and employees, the company's total gasoline support cost is up to 780 million VND.
Every day traveling also costs quite a lot of gasoline. With this additional amount, I feel lighter and also see that businesses are interested in me" - Ms. Tran Thi Hong, a garment line worker at Celebrity Fashion Vina Co., Ltd., Da Nang shared.
Small but timely action
Although in terms of numbers, these supports are not enough to comprehensively change the lives of workers, the value is not only in material things but also in the message: Workers are not left behind when difficulties occur.
In fact, in addition to supporting gasoline money, many grassroots trade unions in Da Nang, typically Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union, have implemented diverse care activities such as periodic health check-ups, supporting workers who have accidents, and giving free check-up tickets to small traders.
Taking care of workers is not only limited to peak periods but is carried out regularly, close to the actual needs of each target group. From cost support, health care to visits when encountering risks, each activity, although small, if done at the right time, will help workers feel more secure and more attached to their work and to the Trade Union organization" - Ms. Lam Thi Vy - Chairwoman of Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union - affirmed.
On the business side, timely support actions for workers in times of price fluctuations are also a sustainable personnel strategy. When workers feel care, they will be more attached, more stable and ready to accompany businesses in difficult times. On the contrary, the role of the Trade Union organization is also more clearly shown. Not only stopping at protecting rights, trade unions are becoming a bridge between workers and businesses, helping both sides understand each other better and find solutions together in difficult times.
In an era of rising prices and economic fluctuations, small actions at the right time are the factors that make a difference. From support of a few hundred thousand VND, visits when sick, or periodic health check-ups... organized by the Trade Union, all are contributing to building a more harmonious foundation of labor relations.
