Spreading practical care to workers
In the days leading up to the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the atmosphere in Vinh Long province's industrial parks is warmer thanks to the practical care activities of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers.
Amidst the pressure of year-end spending and job fluctuations, thousands of union members and workers in difficult circumstances have been motivated by meaningful Tet gifts, contributing to reducing worries before the New Year.
According to the 2026 Tet care plan, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation implemented a support program with a total budget of more than 6.27 billion VND, awarding 11,358 Tet gifts and allowances to union members and workers in the area.
Among them, there are 4,808 difficult allowances, each of 500,000 VND; 6,250 gifts through the "Online Tet Market" form, helping workers proactively choose necessities suitable for family living conditions.
In addition to local resources, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also supported Vinh Long province with 300 gifts, each worth 1.3 million VND, for particularly difficult cases, contributing to expanding the scope of Tet care.
At the gift-giving points, many workers could not hide their emotions when receiving timely attention. The gifts, although not of great value, are of spiritual significance, helping workers feel more secure and attached to the business.
Ms. Le Thi Mai - a garment worker in Phu Quoi commune - said that this year her income has not increased due to fewer overtime shifts, while living expenses have increased, putting a lot of pressure on preparing for Tet for the family. "The 500,000 VND allowance came at the right time, helping to reduce worries and have more conditions to shop for Tet for the family, especially for young children," Ms. Mai shared during the gift-receiving ceremony.
Similarly, Mr. Tran Hoang Nam - a worker at Megasurplus VN Footwear Co., Ltd. in Tan Ngai ward - said that he is taking care of his elderly parents, so the Tet gift from the Trade Union helps his family have a more orderly Tet meal.
Affirming the companion role of the Trade Union organization
Not only giving gifts, the working delegations of the Provincial Labor Federation also directly visited and grasped the thoughts of workers at many businesses such as Kyungshin Vietnam, Vinh Tien Garment, Unisoll Vina, promptly recording recommendations on salaries, jobs, and working conditions.
Through direct visits at the grassroots level, the Provincial Trade Union promptly grasps the reality of workers' lives, thereby adjusting the content to closely care for needs, ensuring support for the right target audience, at the right time during Tet.
Ms. Pham Thi Diem Trang - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Ty Thanh Company (Ba Tri commune) - said that the timely attention of the superior Trade Union creates cohesion between workers and businesses, helping workers feel secure and attached for a long time.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that the Trade Union proactively mobilized resources to take care of Binh Ngo Tet 2026 for workers and laborers.
According to Mr. Linh, diversifying forms of support, from cash allowances to online Tet markets, helps workers easily access policies. The coordination of departments and sectors shows the common responsibility to take care of social security.
