In Dong Hoi city, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - a technician of the Green Tree team of the Dong Hoi Park - Green Tree Center, not only beautifies the streets with straight rows of trees but also brings new vitality to the city. With a master's degree in Plant Science, he constantly applies technical initiatives to his work. From perfecting the process of weeding trees for incubation to the method of checking and caring for trees after planting to achieve a survival rate of over 95%, his efforts have contributed to improving the city's landscape in a systematic and sustainable way.
I always think that my job is not only to plant trees but also to nurture the life in the heart of the city. Green trees growing healthily is also a way for me to contribute to building Quang Binh to develop more sustainably, Mr. Hung shared.
Not only stopping at the role of technicalist, he is also active in union movements, being a grassroots emulation fighter in 2 consecutive years 2023 and 2024. His two initiatives have been widely applied and have been effective in practice throughout Dong Hoi city.
Keeping the forest is like keeping a house
If in urban areas there are people who beautify the living space, then in the mountainous areas of Minh Hoa, Mr. Hoang Phu Cuong - an employee of the Minh Hoa District Forest Protection Management Board is the one who "keeps the forest soul" with steadfastness and silent responsibility.
As Vice Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union, Mr. Cuong not only completed his professional work well but also became a spiritual and organizational support for union members in the unit.
With practical experience and a deep love for the forest, Mr. Cuong has had two typical initiatives recognized at the provincial and district levels, contributing to improving the effectiveness of fire prevention and fighting and forest protection management in the locality.
Many people say the forestry job is hard, but for me, this is the job I have chosen and stuck with. Every hectare of forest is protected, every fire is stopped, once I feel my efforts are worth it, Mr. Cuong confided.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan, President of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor, said: "Union members like Mr. Hung and Mr. Cuong are living proof of the creative and responsible labor spirit of Quang Binh workers".
According to Ms. Lan, in recent times, the Provincial Federation of Labor has always paid attention to training and supporting outstanding individuals, while promptly proposing forms of rewards to encourage and spread positive spirit among union members and workers.
Whether planting trees or protecting the forest, the common thing in these workers is their passion and clear awareness of their mission. They contribute with each specific task, each morning being present earlier than the working hour, or by taking a step in the deep forest during hot or thunderstorms.
