Trade unions are a solid support
The whole province currently has over 110,000 union members, operating in 1,255 grassroots unions. Over the past 5 years, the emulation movement of trade unions at all levels has been widely organized, with focus and key points, associated with the political tasks of the province, creating a widespread influence.
Notably, the movement of scientific research, promoting initiatives and technical improvements with more than 30,000 initiatives and solutions registered and implemented. Typically, 10 union members of Dat Viet Brick and Tile Joint Stock Company were honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh Award for Science and Technology from the State; 71 individuals received the Certificate of "Creative Labor" from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The construction movement, the celebration of major holidays also took place enthusiastically. In the 2020-2025 period, trade unions at all levels have registered to undertake over 1,500 projects and tasks with a total value of more than VND 3,500 billion.
In the special emulation campaign to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, the whole province registered 93 projects and products worth 1,624 billion VND; 5 typical projects were selected to have provincial-level badges.
Faced with the fierce impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Quang Ninh provincial trade union has accompanied the government and businesses to implement a "dual goal" of both fighting the epidemic and developing the economy effectively.
Ms. Tran Thi Hong Lieu, Deputy Director of Royal International Joint Stock Company, said: In recent times, the role of the Trade Union has been demonstrated more comprehensively, from taking care of the health, spirit to the material life of all staff and employees. When the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, Trade Unions at all levels continued to be a solid support, holding a key position, accompanying businesses and workers to overcome difficulties.
In the period of 2022-2023, Quang Ninh continues to make its mark with 15,031 initiatives in the "1 million initiatives" Program, reaching 124% of the plan, with a value of more than 159 billion VND. With this achievement, Quang Ninh ranked 2nd in the Red River Delta Emulation Cluster and 22nd nationwide. The movement "Good workers, creative workers" has become a pioneer flag, encouraging employees to improve productivity and quality. Each initiative, each project, each task that is difficult to complete is a measure of the sense of responsibility and intelligence of Quang Ninh workers.
In addition, the "Outstanding Advanced Workers" movement also left an outstanding mark. Every year, over 20,000 advanced workers are honored; in the 2020-2025 period, the whole province has had 475 outstanding workers honored by the Provincial People's Committee.
Each good example of a worker will continue to be an inspirational story
The emulation results over the past 5 years have contributed to maintaining the high and stable economic growth rate of Quang Ninh, leading the country for many consecutive years in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and administrative reform. This is the foundation for the province to strongly attract non-budgetary resources, shift labor structure, and develop high-quality human resources.
Ms. Hoang Thi Hong Phan - Vice President of the Quang Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor - said: Entering the 2025-2030 period, Quang Ninh province aims to promote industrialization and modernization, becoming a modern service - industrial province, an international tourism center, and one of the economic locomotives of the country.
The new requirement for the staff is to constantly improve their qualifications and professional skills, adapt to digital transformation and the 4.0 industrial revolution. The Trade Union organization must also strongly innovate its methods of operation and organize emulation not only in conjunction with productivity and quality, but also towards building a modern and civilized working environment, improving the material and spiritual life of workers.
The provincial trade union also focuses on disseminating and replicating advanced models. Each example of good and creative workers will be an inspiring story, contributing to spreading the image of Quang Ninh workers who are intelligent, dynamic, responsible, and aspirational, making an important contribution to the sustainable development of the province.
