Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union provides training on skills in using artificial intelligence (AI) in trade union activities for grassroots trade union officials.

On the afternoon of July 1st, the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union organized a training conference in 2026 for more than 260 grassroots trade union officials in the Southern region.

Speaking at the opening, Mr. Nguyen Ha Xuyen - Chairman of the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union - said that the entire system of the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union is simultaneously implementing many strategically significant resolutions, including: Resolution of the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union, term 2025 - 2030; Resolution of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026 - 2031; and Resolution of the Party Congress of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, term 2025 - 2030. These are major and consistent orientations, posing the requirement to quickly concretize into practical programs, plans and actions at each grassroots trade union.

The consistent spirit of the resolutions is to strongly innovate the content and methods of trade union activities, taking the grassroots level as the operating area, taking union members and workers as the center, taking the difficult reality of the grassroots level as the service goal, taking operational efficiency as a measure of the quality of the trade union organization, and taking the satisfaction of union members and workers as a measure of evaluating the quality of trade union officials.

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union has identified training and fostering cadres and applying digital technology and artificial intelligence in trade union activities as 2 of the 4 key tasks of the action program to implement the Resolution of the 1st Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030 and is a task that must be implemented right at the beginning of the term.

We determine that investing in trade union officials is investing in the sustainable development of the trade union organization. A strong trade union organization must start from grassroots trade union officials who are steadfast in their bravery, understand the law, are proficient in skills, are close to union members and have the ability to adapt quickly to the changes of the times," Mr. Xuyen emphasized.

According to the program, grassroots trade union officials were disseminated new regulations related to trade union activities and organizations; exchanged and answered questions about professional and nghiệp vụ trade union work.

At the same time, listen to experts exchange about skills in dialogue, collective bargaining and skills in using artificial intelligence applications in trade union activities.

Previously, the Vietnam Union of Agriculture and Environment also organized similar conferences to train grassroots trade union officials in the Northern and Central regions.
