Workers urgently work overtime at the end of the year
With only a few weeks left until Lunar New Year 2025, the working atmosphere at factories in Dak Lak province is becoming increasingly bustling. Workers in Dak Lak are making every effort to compete in production, hoping for a full and warm Tet.
Ms. H'Rut Eban, a worker at Team 4 of the 30/4 Rubber Farm in Buon Ma Thuot City, shared: "At the end of the year, the workload is very large. Sometimes I have to wake up at 2am to prepare, and be able to go to the rubber tapping lot at 4am. Even though there is no leader to urge us, we all work voluntarily with the goal of receiving salary and bonus to prepare for Tet."
At Tan An Industrial Park, thousands of workers are also working overtime. Many businesses, especially foreign companies, are requiring overtime to meet year-end delivery deadlines.
Ms. H'Nhien M'lo - a worker at Tan An Industrial Park - shared: "There are days when I work overtime until 10pm. Despite the great pressure, I still try to receive my salary and Tet bonus. This year, I will work overtime even more to improve my income and take care of my family."
Support workers to have a warm Tet holiday
Currently, Dak Lak Rubber Joint Stock Company has 2,105 workers working at farms in the province, of which 50% are ethnic minorities. This is the enterprise with the largest number of employees in Dak Lak province.
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Linh - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Dak Lak Rubber Joint Stock Company - said that during the upcoming Lunar New Year, the company will give 700 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances at the farms. Each gift is worth about 300,000 VND, to support workers, especially ethnic minorities, to work with peace of mind and have a full Tet holiday.
“The Board of Directors also pays special attention to difficult cases, along with individuals and groups with outstanding achievements, actively contributing to the company's development,” Ms. Linh emphasized.
Mr. Le Van Thanh, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial Federation of Labor - shared: "During the Lunar New Year, the provincial unions at all levels have been implementing many forms of care for 13,541 union members and workers, with a total cost of about 6.7 billion VND. Although busy with the work of merging and streamlining the apparatus, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor is still focusing on this task."
According to Mr. Thanh, priority is given to those in especially difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases or serious illnesses, to ensure that all workers have a warm and meaningful Tet.
Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi also directed departments, branches and localities to proactively and closely monitor the situation of labor relations in enterprises. At the same time, deploy measures to prevent and limit labor disputes before, during and after Tet.
Authorities are required to pay attention to supporting workers who have reduced income, lost jobs or are underemployed. Businesses need to ensure full and timely payment of salaries and bonuses (if any) to workers, contributing to stabilizing life during Tet.
