Participating in voluntary social insurance is paid every 6 months

Social insurance participants voluntarily pay every 6 months from July 1, 2025.

According to Clause 2, Article 36 of the Law on Social Insurance 2024 (effective from July 1, 2025), the payment level, method and duration of social insurance payment for voluntary social insurance participants are:

1. The subjects specified in Clause 4, Article 2 of this Law are responsible for monthly contributions equal to 22% of the income used as the basis for voluntary social insurance contributions to the pension and death fund.

Based on socio-economic development conditions and state budget capacity in each period, the Government stipulates the level of support, support subjects and the time to implement the policy of supporting social insurance contributions for voluntary social insurance participants.

2. Voluntary social insurance participants can choose one of the following payment methods: Monthly; every 3 months; every 6 months; every 12 months; Once for many years in the future with a payment amount lower than the payment amount as prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article;

Once for the remaining social insurance payment period to be eligible for pension with the amount of contribution higher than the amount of contribution according to the level prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article.

Accordingly, voluntary social insurance participants can choose one of the above methods, including paying every 6 months.
