On November 14, a working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) led by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the VGCL - worked with the People's Committee of Ben Tre province on the implementation of the construction of the Trade Union social housing project in Ben Tre.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Van Trung - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Ben Tre province - said that on the land where the Trade Union social housing project is being implemented in Ben Tre, there are still assets (fences, piles, etc.) of Thuan Phong Agricultural Products Processing Company Limited. Up to now, this enterprise has not handled it itself, therefore, it is requested that the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district take the lead in handling the assets on the above land in case it does not handle and dismantle the assets on the land itself.
The Department of Construction also requested the Chau Thanh District People's Committee to promptly approve the detailed construction planning project at a scale of 1/500 for the Trade Union social housing project in Ben Tre after the Provincial People's Committee decided to partially adjust the general urban construction planning project of Giao Long. At the same time, the Department of Construction also requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to promptly appraise the land lease and land allocation dossiers when the investor requests.
Mr. Le Van Nghia - Head of the Trade Union Institution Project Management Board (VGCL) - said that by September 2024, the VGCL and the Provincial People's Committee had agreed on the location for the Trade Union social housing project in Ben Tre in Chau Thanh district. However, this land has not yet been cleared, so the VGCL requested the competent authorities of Ben Tre to speed up the progress of handing over the site to the investor.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also requested the People's Committee of Ben Tre province to consider directing the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district and relevant agencies to speed up the appraisal of the detailed construction planning project at a scale of 1/500 for the Trade Union Institution project in Ben Tre according to the proposal of the Trade Union Institution Project Management Board.
Immediately after the project's detailed planning is approved, the Trade Union Institution Project Management Board will implement investment procedures and ensure the project's commencement target in 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee - requested Chau Thanh District People's Committee to coordinate with departments and branches to carry out the site clearance work for the Trade Union social housing project in Ben Tre. Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee agreed on the schedule, striving to start construction in October 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - agreed with the content of the Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee, and at the same time, requested the Trade Union Institution Project Management Board (Vietnam General Confederation of Labor) to coordinate with departments, branches and Chau Thanh District People's Committee to speed up the progress of the Trade Union social housing project.
The Union social housing project in Ben Tre is built in Chau Thanh district with an area of about 3.32 hectares. This project is expected to have a construction area of 5,858m2, including 4 blocks of 7 floors, with a total construction floor area of about 41,080m2, and a population of 1,700 - 2,000 people. The total expected investment of the Union social housing project in Ben Tre is about 461 billion VND.
