Union Meal is worth double
Ms. Le Thi Nhu Y, a worker in the production department of Yen Sao Dien Phu Speciality Processing Factory, under Sanest Khanh Hoa Beverage Joint Stock Company, attended the "Union Meal" program organized by the Company's Departmental Union (CDBP) for the first time.
"Different from the usual shift meal, my "Union Meal" portion has 7 dishes. Dishes include fresh dishes, fish meat and dessert. The meals were better than usual, the quality of nutrition was also higher and I found the meals improved much higher, the workers were not only full and delicious but also very excited to have more "Union Meals", Ms. Y shared.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nhan - Chairman of the Trade Union of Sanest Khanh Hoa Beverage Joint Stock Company informed that the trade union coordinated with the enterprise to allocate funds to organize for 190 union members and employees working at the factory to eat "Union Meal". Each meal costs 50,000 VND, with more diverse and nutritious dishes. Of which, the budget from the company's shift meals is 30,000 VND and the department union supports an additional 20,000 VND.
At Dien Phu Industrial Cluster, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones (IPZ) of Khanh Hoa province coordinated with the Trade Union of Hai Nam Company Limited to organize a more delicious "Union Meal", the value of the meal increased by 60% for 150 employees. Of which, enterprises supported 25,000 VND, the provincial Industrial Park Trade Union supported 30,000 VND, bringing a practical atmosphere to Workers' Month. Union members and workers are looking forward to having more improved meals like this organized every month.
Mr. Dang Xuan Hieu - a worker in the Trade Union of Scaffolding Machinery of Hai Nam Company Limited said that normally there are about 5 dishes, but now there are 3 salty dishes, with more quantity, adding yogurt and dessert. In general, workers eat very well, being full and nutritious much more.
Workers are healthy, labor productivity increases
Mr. Bui Tran Thai - Chairman of the Trade Union of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company - shared that, realizing the practical significance of the program, in May, the Trade Union launched a program to the trade unions of the department to organize "Union Meals" for workers.
4 units have registered to participate with nearly 2,000 gifts, each worth 50,000 VND. From the first unit organizing, it has received the support of many union members. Not only is it a regular meal, but from here, workers improve their health and see the attention of the trade union and business leaders create excitement to unite, overcome difficulties in competing for production.
According to the assessment of the leaders of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, with the active proactiveness of the higher-level trade union to the grassroots trade union, the valuable Trade Union Meal has been spread twice as much as it is usually 3 days.
Ms. Tran Thi Huong - Vice President of Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor - affirmed that improving the quality of shift meals so that union members and workers have good health and ensure job requirements is one of the policies that the Trade Unions at all levels focus on.
Recently, the Provincial Federation of Labor has mobilized many employers to increase the value of meals from VND18,000 to VND20,000 and VND25,000 on average. Some units recorded the value of shift meals at 60,000-70,000 VND.
With the spread of "Union Meal", the program has contributed to changing the awareness of employers in taking care of workers' health.
