In celebration of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2024), on the afternoon of October 18, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a workshop to collect comments on the Guidelines for implementing the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" among female workers, civil servants, and laborers in the new situation (guidelines).

The workshop was attended by more than 220 delegates representing leaders of provincial and municipal labor federations, central industry unions, industrial park unions, grassroots unions and representatives of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor...
“In 1989, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor launched the emulation movement “Good at public work, good at housework” among female workers. The movement has gone through 35 years, becoming a beautiful and traditional movement of generations of female workers. The movement is both a motivation for women to strive and an opportunity for women to develop their potential, intelligence, be good workers, work creatively, and rise up to affirm their role and position in the family and society,” said Ms. Thai Thu Xuong.
However, the propaganda, dissemination and implementation of the movement in some unions is still formal, not extensive, and not close to reality...
To overcome the shortcomings and limitations of the movement, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has developed a draft guideline with the hope of resolving the shortcomings and limitations, further promoting the movement and concretizing the content of the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at home work" in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union; as well as gathering a large number of female employees in all sectors, especially non-state enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises to participate in and implement the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at home work".
In order for the movement "Good at public affairs, good at home affairs" to be widely deployed and have practical significance for union members and employees, at the workshop, Ms. Pham Thu Thuong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Women's Union of Hai Phong City Labor Federation proposed that there should be common criteria for considering emulation titles for specific groups and individuals: The title "Good at public affairs, good at home affairs" is organized and recognized by the executive committee of the grassroots trade union. Every year, groups and individuals of female cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers who are considered and recognized for the title "Good at public affairs, good at home affairs" must register for the emulation title "Good at public affairs, good at home affairs" from the beginning of the year (or the beginning of the school year for the education sector) and meet the emulation criteria.
According to Ms. Thuong, the criterion of "Good at public affairs" should include criteria such as complying with the Party's guidelines and policies; State policies and laws; enterprise regulations; regulations of the locality of residence; actively participating in activities and emulation movements organized and launched by agencies, units, enterprises, and trade unions.
Be proactive and actively study to improve your knowledge and skills and spread the spirit of learning to those around you. Promote dynamism and creativity, complete assigned tasks well with productivity, quality and efficiency; be exemplary and responsible, participate in building a united, unified and comprehensively developed collective, contributing to the development of the locality, industry, agency, unit and enterprise.
Have good moral qualities, have a cultured, elegant, honest, thrifty lifestyle at the agency, unit, enterprise, in accordance with the ethical rules, conventions, and regulations of the community, locality, and unit.
For the criterion of "Doing housework" should include criteria such as knowing how to organize and arrange family life scientifically; creating an equal and harmonious family environment, family members respect, are responsible, love, bond, care and help each other in life; building a prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized family; being aware of preserving and promoting the good traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese people and Vietnamese women; actively exercising to have good health both physically and mentally; thinking positively, having a healthy lifestyle; participating and mobilizing people around to participate in sports, cultural and artistic activities; having knowledge and skills to take care of health for yourself and your family...
The comments of the delegates are the basis for the Women's Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to advise the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to issue Guidelines for implementing the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" among female workers in line with reality.
