Lack of a service road, Hai Phong workers go in the wrong direction on National Highway 5

Hai Phong - Hai Phong City Police have just resolved the situation of workers in the Japan - Hai Phong Industrial Park going in the wrong direction on National Highway 5.

According to Hai Phong City Police, the Japan - Hai Phong Industrial Park (old Nomura) is located adjacent to National Highway 5, currently has 42 operating enterprises with more than 30,000 workers and laborers. However, due to the lack of a residential access road, the roads in the industrial park are directly connected to National Highway 5, creating a major traffic conflict point.

During peak hours (6:30 - 8am and 4:30pm - 7pm), many workers drive vehicles across National Highway 5, going in the wrong direction to the industrial park, causing traffic insecurity, posing a potential risk of serious accidents. In particular, the section in front of the industrial park gate is the slope of Quan Toan Bridge, intersecting with Hung Vuong Street, the road surface is narrow, traffic organization is complicated, there is no overpass for people, causing frequent traffic going in the wrong direction.

Faced with this situation, the Traffic Police Department - Hai Phong City Police has directed the An Hung Traffic Police Station to deploy many measures to propagate and mobilize people and workers to comply with traffic safety regulations. The station coordinated with the police of Tan Tien, Hong Phong (An Duong) and An Hong (Hong Bang) wards to inspect, remind, and rectify the situation of encroachment on traffic corridors. At the same time, advise the People's Committees of wards to organize the signing of commitments to comply with regulations on traffic safety, urban order and environmental sanitation for households and units in the area.

An Hung Traffic Police Station also developed a separate plan to handle congestion and prevent accidents at the gate area of the Japan - Hai Phong Industrial Park, focusing on deploying forces at intersections, increasing patrols, reminding, and strictly handling cases of intentional traffic going in the wrong direction.

For example, at the section from the traffic light intersection to Tan Tien, Hong Phong, where violations often occur, the working groups arranged 24/7 duty, continuous traffic to check and handle.

Thanks to that, the situation of workers going in the wrong direction on National Highway 5 has been basically controlled, contributing to reducing collisions and accidents, especially during work hours or at night.
