Or terminate employment but not more than 5 times the regional minimum monthly salary announced by the Government applied in the last month of unemployment insurance payment.
Accordingly, the maximum unemployment benefit from 2026 is uniformly implemented according to the following formula:
Maximum unemployment benefit = 5 x regional minimum wage.
For workers from January 1, 2026, it will be agreed to use the regional minimum wage in the basis for calculating the maximum unemployment benefit level.
In 2025, the regional minimum wage according to Clause 1, Article 3 of Decree 74/2024/ND-CP stipulates the lowest level in Region IV is 3,450,000 and the highest in Region I is 4,960,000 VND.
According to Decree 293/2025/ND-CP, from the beginning of 2026, the lowest level in region IV is 3,700,000 VND and the highest in region I is 5,310,000 VND.
According to Decree 293 stipulating the minimum wage for employees working under labor contracts from January 1, 2026, the regional minimum wage is:

Thus, the maximum unemployment benefit for workers working in region I is 26,550,000 VND, region IV is 18,500,000 VND.
Accordingly, in 2026, the maximum unemployment benefit difference between the highest and lowest levels is 8,050,000 VND.
