This is the result of the "Supporting the Hot Season" program implemented by the EVNHCMC Trade Union.
Mr. Le Van Minh - Chairman of EVNHCMC Trade Union - informed that from the beginning of April, Ho Chi Minh City began to enter the peak of the hot season, the outdoor temperature continuously exceeded the threshold of 35 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius, affecting the health of workers, especially those working directly at the corporation's projects. However, on power lines and transformer stations, many workers still quietly stick to work in the scorching sun to keep the electricity flowing smoothly, serving the living and production of people and businesses in Ho Chi Minh City.
Understanding those hardships, the EVNHCMC Trade Union has implemented the program "Supporting the hot season" with many practical activities, promptly taking care of the health and spirit of workers. Accordingly, the EVNHCMC Trade Union requests grassroots trade unions to coordinate with professional departments to plan to organize activities to encourage and visit direct workers who are working at the unit's projects and propagate to workers measures to protect their health when performing tasks in hot weather.
In particular, the EVNHCMC Trade Union also provides funding for each unit of 10 million VND, of which half is from the Corporation's Welfare Fund and half from trade union finance for units to buy food and drinks to nourish workers working directly at the projects.
From this funding source, grassroots trade unions directly under it have the source to coordinate with professionals to prepare breakfasts and drinks, handing them directly to workers before leaving the construction site. The meals are prepared thoughtfully, ensuring nutrition not only helps workers recharge energy but also adds motivation to start a working day in harsh weather conditions.
Above all, it is not only meals but also the understanding and sharing of the Trade Union organization with workers, contributing to uniting the collective and spreading the spirit of teamwork among workers. The concern from the leaders and EVNHCMC trade union has helped workers feel more clearly about the companionship, thereby adding more responsibility and enthusiasm for work.
