Mr. Dang Phuc Khanh - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Vinh Long Power Company - said that 2 union members were supported with MÂCĐ houses, with very difficult circumstances, their own income had to support their elderly parents who were often sick, their wives were unemployed, their young children went to school, and they themselves had housing difficulties... Thanks to the support of trade union levels and relatives, the two union members had the conditions to build a solid house.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union - said that the "Trade Union Home" Program implemented by the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union for many years has become one of the social security activities imbued with humanity, clearly showing the role and responsibility of the Trade Union organization in caring for the lives of union members and workers. Not only supporting funding for building new or repairing houses for union members in difficult circumstances, the program also contributes to realizing the dream of a spacious and stable home for many families of electricity workers.
For workers, especially those working in remote and isolated areas with difficult economic conditions, a solid house is not only a place to shelter from rain and sun but also a foundation to stabilize life, feel secure in labor production and be attached to the unit for a long time.
Each house donated from the program is the crystallization of the spirit of mutual affection, sharing and community responsibility of officials and employees throughout the electricity industry through social support funds. From there, the program contributes to spreading good values, consolidating solidarity between workers and the Trade Union organization, and at the same time enhancing the trust of union members in the organization representing their legitimate rights and interests.
More than material value, Trade Union Home also carries a profound spiritual meaning when it gives more motivation to families in difficult circumstances to rise up in life, affirming the message that no one is left behind.
