Workers in the digital age
On June 2, representatives of the leadership of Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation said that the unit had just organized a meeting with the Thanh Hoa Trade Union Delegation to attend the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031.
Before the congress, Thanh Hoa Trade Union delegates placed many expectations on innovating the emulation movement in a substantive direction, putting workers at the center, businesses as a deployment environment, and productivity, initiatives and income as a measure of efficiency.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Tron - Chairman of the Trade Union of Annora Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. - said that in the context of digital transformation and international integration, workers not only directly produce but also need to be pioneers in innovation, improve productivity, and master science and technology.
From the reality that Thanh Hoa has more than 306,000 union members, workers and 826 grassroots trade unions, grassroots trade unions, Mr. Tron emphasized that the Trade Union organization needs to innovate emulation methods, create an environment for workers to promote their skills, initiatives and aspirations to contribute.
This is specified as, Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation has implemented the movement "5 pioneers - 5 companions", in which the model "Good workers - Typical initiatives" is identified as the core. The new point of the model is to shift from a phased approach to building a "creative ecosystem" in enterprises.
The Trade Union coordinates with employers to organize skills competitions, skilled workers competitions, initiative forums, creative labor days, and the movement "One worker, one initiative". Thanks to that, initiatives are discovered right from the sewing line, production team, workshop, factory - where workers directly create value.
According to Mr. Tron, initiatives must be linked to workers' rights. Grassroots trade unions need to include initiative rewards in collective labor agreements, link productivity with income, work efficiency with bonuses, and propose that businesses reward based on profit value.
Sending wishes for better income
Ms. Trinh Thi Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Alena Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. said that the movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income" has special significance in the goal of rapid and sustainable growth. According to Ms. Nguyet, to achieve double-digit growth, it is necessary to improve labor productivity; to improve productivity, it is necessary to promote the intelligence, skills and innovation spirit of workers.
From emulation movements in recent years, Thanh Hoa has created many imprints. The movement "Workers, civil servants, and laborers pioneering in realizing the aspiration to build a civilized and prosperous Thanh Hoa homeland" in the period 2021 - 2030 recorded 122 typical models, 135 projects, products, and tasks to celebrate Trade Union Congresses at all levels and 86,690 initiatives and topics that brought hundreds of billions of VND in profit.
In the Program "75,000 initiatives, overcoming difficulties, developing", Thanh Hoa had 30,257 initiatives registered to participate, ranking second nationwide. In particular, in the Program "1 million initiatives", Thanh Hoa had 600,175 initiatives recorded on the information portal of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the total benefit value in the business sector is estimated at more than 584 billion VND, ranking first nationwide.
However, Ms. Nguyet also pointed out that some emulation movements are still showing formality; many initiatives have not been discovered, supported and replicated in time; a part of workers still lack professional skills and digital skills to adapt to modern production requirements.
From that reality, Thanh Hoa Trade Union delegates proposed that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor build a national unified set of criteria for "Excellent Workers - Typical Initiatives"; form a digital platform to receive, share, and spread workers' initiatives; establish a network of creative workers nationwide; and at the same time have a mechanism to encourage businesses to practically accompany the emulation movement.
The thoughts and expectations of Thanh Hoa Trade Union delegates sent to the Congress are not only the results of emulation, but also the expectation of a strong enough mechanism for workers to be creative, recognized, improve their skills and benefit worthily from the achievements of growth.
