Receiving and working with Ms. Park Sinwon on the afternoon of March 25, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor congratulated Ms. Park Sinwon on being trusted by the ILO to hold the important position of Director of the ILO Office in Vietnam from November 2025, and highly appreciated the role and practical contributions of the ILO in Vietnam over the past decades, especially in supporting capacity building for trilateral partners, contributing to further improving labor relations institutions in Vietnam.
The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour informed about the activities of the Vietnam Trade Union, priorities in the coming time and proposed areas of cooperation between the two sides. In which, it is expected that at the end of May 2026, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour will organize the XIV Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union for the term 2026 – 2031.
Some contents exchanged and discussed by the two sides include: The participation and contribution of the VGCL to the current tripartite mechanisms in Vietnam.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour's viewpoint on current tripartite mechanisms and proposed measures to promote and improve the effectiveness of these mechanisms; the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour's proposals for priority objectives of the National Program on Decent Employment (DWCP) for the period 2027 – 2031 between the ILO and tripartite partners in Vietnam (preparing for the development and signing of the National Program between the ILO and tripartite partners in Vietnam); the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour's proposal for ILO development cooperation programs to be implemented in Vietnam to meet the needs and priorities of workers...


Based on the cooperation activities that have been implemented, with the current operating context of the Vietnam Trade Union, the President of the VGCL proposed that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to coordinate in the fields of: Union member development, improving the quality of negotiation, signing collective labor agreements and dialogues at the workplace, expanding social security, ensuring occupational safety and health, gender equality, digital transformation; especially requesting the ILO to coordinate and support to increase labor productivity to achieve the goal of double-digit growth. The President of the VGCL also emphasized that this is a strategic issue of Vietnam.
