On October 29, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha - Member of the Presidium, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said: The Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is implementing a Plan to organize activities to support vehicles to bring union members and workers back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and return to work during the 2026 Lunar New Year.
This activity aims to reduce the financial burden on union members and employees who are still in difficulty or have excellent achievements in labor and production; affirm the role, responsibility and comprehensive attention of the trade union organization to union members and employees; contribute to ensuring traffic safety during the Lunar New Year...
Union members and employees are considered for support when they meet the following criteria:
- Having difficult circumstances, low income (priority for union members and employees who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, reduced working hours, job losses, unpaid wages and bonuses, union members and employees who are relatives of people with revolutionary contributions, ethnic minorities, areas affected by natural disasters) or union members and employees with outstanding achievements in production, business or participating in trade union activities who have been awarded Certificates of Merit and awards by the Provincial, Municipal Labor Federations, central industry unions, economic group unions and general corporation unions under the General Confederation in the period of 2020 - 2025 or more;
- Comply well with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the internal rules, regulations and rules of enterprises and localities where they reside. Actively participate in activities organized by the Trade Union;
- First of all, priority will be given to union members and employees who have not returned home for Tet for many years: 3 years or more for union members and employees receiving support for "Union Flight - Spring 2026"; 2 years or more for union members and employees receiving support for "Union Train - Spring 2026";
- Have a need to return to their hometown to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2026 and commit to returning to work after the end of the Lunar New Year holiday in 2026 according to the schedule of the unit or enterprise.
Regarding "Union Flight - Spring 2026", the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will allocate 500 one-way air tickets and 500 gifts worth VND300,000/person (cash) to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation, and Tay Ninh Provincial Labor Federation to support union members and workers to return home for Tet. Each union member and employee in this group is accompanied by 1 person (husband/wife, father, mother, child).
Regarding the "Union Train - Spring 2026", the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor allocated 2,000 two-way train tickets and 2,000 gifts worth VND300,000/person (cash) to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation, Tay Ninh Provincial Labor Federation, and Vietnam Railway Trade Union to support union members and workers to return home for Tet. Each union member and employee in this group must be accompanied by no more than 3 people (husband/wife, father, mother, child).
