Many practical activities to protect the rights of female workers
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that in recent times, the Trade Union organization has achieved many achievements, including the active contribution of propaganda and women's work. The Trade Union has made many innovations and creativity in propaganda and mobilization work to help union members and workers raise awareness of the Party, the State's policies, and the tasks of the Vietnam Trade Union. Women's work has been given attention and organized with many practical activities, protecting the rights of female workers, promoting gender equality and preventing and combating violence against women and children.
Ms. Thai Thu Xuong noted that in 2025, propaganda and women's work needs to closely follow the specific targets and tasks of 2025 assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to the provinces and sectors; determined to strive to achieve the highest results.
"In the context of the new situation, the requirement for the Trade Union organization is to comprehensively innovate. Therefore, it requires trade union cadres working in propaganda and women's work to change their thinking, content and methods of operation to be very scientific, appropriate, and close to workers; organize diverse activities to care for the cultural and spiritual life of workers, promote gender equality; protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of female and female workers and children" - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor emphasized.
Strengthening understanding of the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers
Presenting the guidance of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on key tasks of propaganda work in 2025, Ms. Vu Thi Giang Huong - Head of the Propaganda and Women's Union of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that trade unions at all levels need to propagate and mobilize cadres, union members, and workers to actively respond and strictly implement the Party's policies and resolutions on innovation and reorganization of the apparatus of the political system; increase understanding of the thoughts and aspirations of cadres, union members, civil servants, public employees, and workers, regularly report and reflect to the Party Committee, leaders of agencies and units to have appropriate solutions.
Along with that, it will enhance the grasp of the thoughts, aspirations, and public opinion among cadres, union members, workers, and civil servants, promptly handle developments arising among workers...
Trade unions at all levels will promote the effective implementation of the Program "Promoting communication work of Vietnam Trade Union for the period 2023-2028"; provide information, proactively coordinate propaganda about the movement of workers and civil servants and trade union activities, deploy the mechanism of assigning tasks, placing orders, bidding to propagate the political tasks of the Trade Union organization in newspapers and publications; increase propaganda on the electronic information page system and social network accounts of trade unions at all levels; actively and proactively coordinate the provision of propaganda information on communication products of trade union press agencies and publications.
For women's work, one of the key tasks is that trade unions at all levels promote the implementation of Conclusion No. 05/KL-TLD on continuing to implement Resolution No. 12b/NQ-BCH on the Women's Union of non-state enterprises; promote the establishment, safety and improve the quality of activities of the Women's Union at all levels, focusing on the establishment of the Women's Union of non-state enterprises according to the target of the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Strengthen propaganda for female union members and workers about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's legal policies related to female and child labor: the amended Trade Union Law, the amended Law on Social Insurance (amended), the amended Labor Ministry, the Law on Marriage and Family, the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence and guiding documents; Directive No. 27/CT-TTg dated August 15, 2024 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the implementation of population work in the new situation; resolutions related to gender equality, population, family, children; implementing monthly activities on social holidays and anniversaries.
Strengthen coordination in inspection, supervision and supervision of the implementation of policies and regimes for female workers, children, etc.
For Workers' Month 2025 (with the theme "Vietnamese Workers Pioneering to enter a new era"), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor directs trade unions at all levels to continue organizing activities that are promoting efficiency in localities, sectors, and units, which are widely welcomed by union members, employees, and are of interest and support to party committees at all levels, authorities, and employers. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor sets a target of striving for 55% or more of grassroots trade unions in all types of enterprises to have at least 1 activity in response to Workers' Month; 35% or more of grassroots trade unions of administrative agencies and service units to have at least 1 activity in response to Workers' Month in 2025.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu said that one of the contents of the Workers' Month 2025 is to organize the "Creative Labor Festival" at the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level; report and propose that Party and State leaders attend, meet and discuss and share with union members, workers and laborers who are outstanding in creativity. According to the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, promoting creative labor among union members and workers is a special contribution of the Trade Union organization, contributing to bringing the country into a new era, achieving the growth target of 8% or more in 2025 and double-digit growth in the coming years.
