In recent days, storms and the circulation of storm No. 3 (Yagi) have caused floods, landslides, and devastated many northern provinces, causing huge losses, killing hundreds of people and injuring thousands.
With the good traditions and ethics of the nation and the spirit of "mutual love and support" and "love others as you love yourself", the leaders of Vietnam Tobacco Corporation and the Standing Committee of the Trade Union called on the officers, employees and workers in the corporation to open their hearts of compassion, share, and alleviate the pain, loss and difficulties of people in the provinces that suffered heavy damage caused by floods.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Le Nghia - Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Tobacco Corporation said that practical contributions will help stabilize the lives of people in disaster-hit areas, help them reduce difficulties, overcome fate, and resiliently cope with natural disasters and floods.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee raised 10 billion VND, which will be directly handed over to people in disaster areas by the leaders of the Corporation, the Standing Committee of the Trade Union and the units.
According to the plan, on September 30, 2024, the Corporation will visit and directly present 500 million VND to the Relief Fund of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and will continue to allocate support funds to other localities as soon as possible.
Previously, to promptly contribute support funds, the Corporation's leaders donated 500 million VND to the Relief Fund of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
