On November 9, in many areas of Hue City, the government, police forces and people simultaneously launched a "Green Sunday" to clean up the environment, overcoming the consequences of a long period of floods.
In Phong Dinh ward, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Phan Thien Dinh directly inspected and encouraged nearly 100 people from the forces collecting garbage, mud and pruning trees along the road to Phuoc Tich ancient village. He praised the spirit of "clearing wherever the water recedes" of the government and people, contributing to cleaning up village roads and alleys.

In Phong Thai ward, the Chairman of Hue City People's Committee encouraged forces to clean up along Provincial Road 11B - the area deeply flooded in the recent flood, and at the same time inspect the progress of the embankment reinforcement project combined with traffic. The city's leaders also visited people and traders, wishing them a soon stabilization in their lives after the flood. He called on localities to restore the "Green Sunday" movement, continue to preserve a "green - clean - bright" living environment.
On the same day, Hue City Police organized a general environmental cleaning campaign, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, responding to the movement "Green Sunday - Action to make Hue greener, cleaner, and brighter". The activity took place simultaneously in 40 wards and communes, mobilizing hundreds of cadres, soldiers, youth union members and people to participate.

From early morning, on many streets such as Bui Thi Xuan, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Le Duc Anh, the police force, youth union members and people collected garbage, cleared trees, cleared sewers, dredged mud. In low-lying areas such as Phu Ho and Quang Dien, officers and soldiers also supported people in clearing mud, repairing fallen trees, clearing martyrs' cemeteries, contributing to stabilizing their lives.
Colonel Duong Van Thoan - Deputy Director of Hue City Police, said that this is not only an activity in response to the environmental movement but also demonstrates the responsibility and affection of the police force for the people.
