On May 16, the Minh Hoa District Labor Federation (Quang Binh Province) said that the unit had just coordinated with the Board of Directors and the Trade Union of Thuong Hoa Secondary and High School to organize the donation of funds to support the construction of a "Union Shelter" house for teacher Ho Tien Nam - a union member of the school.
Mr. Nam's family is in a particularly difficult situation, with up to 9 members. In addition to his elderly mother and two young children, he also has to take care of his unemployed wife, his sick sister and two young grandchildren. All living expenses depend on the small salary of a teacher in a mountainous area. Meanwhile, the family's old house was seriously degraded and unsafe.
Based on the proposal of the Standing Committee of the Minh Hoa District Labor Federation, the Quang Binh Trade Union Social Fund decided to support 40 million VND to help Mr. Nam's family build a new house. With this support, the family has saved and borrowed more to complete a spacious, sturdy house - creating a stable place to live for 3 generations.
At the funding ceremony, Mr. Le Minh Toan - District Party Committee member, Chairman of the Minh Hoa District Labor Federation encouraged the family to try to overcome difficulties, live and work with peace of mind. He expressed his hope that Mr. Ho Tien Nam would continue to strive in his career, actively participating in trade union activities at the grassroots level.
Moved by the attention, Mr. Ho Tien Nam expressed his deep gratitude to the trade unions at all levels for promptly sharing and supporting the family to overcome the difficult period. "The new house is not only a place to live, but also a source of spiritual motivation for me to stick with the job and contribute better to the education sector" - Mr. Nam shared.
The "Union Shelter" program has recently continued to affirm its practical effectiveness in caring for the lives of union members. From a support program, the "Union Shelter" has become a symbol of solidarity and sharing between the union organization and workers, spreading the spirit of humanity in the community.
