On the afternoon of December 24, the Steering Committee for Family Work and the Movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" of An Giang province (Steering Committee) held a Conference to review the movement to build agencies, units and enterprises meeting cultural standards for the period 2023-2024 (movement).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Nhat Tien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL), Ms. Huynh Thi Nhu Lam - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOC) and 120 delegates representing the FFL, Department of Culture of districts, towns and cities in the province attended.
After 2 years of launching, the movement has been actively implemented by Trade Unions at all levels in conjunction with professional tasks, trade union activities and studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style... Thereby, 1,595/1,721 agencies, units and enterprises registered, reaching a rate of 92.68%; 1,509/1,595 agencies, units and enterprises proposed for recognition, reaching a rate of 94.61%. Through the inspection and review of records from the grassroots level, the Provincial Steering Committee held a meeting to review and unanimously recognized 1,502/1,509 agencies, units and enterprises meeting cultural standards, reaching a rate of 99.54%.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Nhat Tien - Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee - said that after 2 years of launching, the Trade Unions at all levels have closely followed the leadership of Party Committees at all levels, closely coordinated with the Heads of agencies, units, and enterprises to deploy specific, practical emulation movements, suitable to the actual situation of each agency, unit, and enterprise. Especially in the past 2 years, the patriotic emulation movement has had many positive changes, creating motivation for union members, workers, and laborers to enthusiastically participate in labor and production, contributing to the successful implementation of local socio-economic development tasks...
However, besides advantages and achievements, there are still many limitations. Notably, many business owners have not paid attention to implementation. Meanwhile, the number of union members and grassroots unions is quite large (117,032 union members/125,689 employees working at 1,519 grassroots unions), but the number of full-time union officials is still lacking compared to the requirements of the tasks, so there are limitations in inspection and synthesis...
According to Mr. Tien, the title of culturally qualified agencies, units and enterprises is a title prescribed by the Government and assigned to the Trade Union organization to launch, but so far it has not been stipulated in the Law on Emulation and Commendation, and there is no Circular stipulating the implementation budget, so Trade Unions at all levels do not have a legal basis and budget to spend on activities to build and recognize the title of culturally qualified agencies, units and enterprises.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy - Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee - highly appreciated the efforts of the Steering Committee members, especially the Trade Union organization in coordinating with heads of agencies, units, and enterprises to strengthen the building of the title of cultural agencies, units, and enterprises, paying attention to the cultural and spiritual life of union members... Ms. Thuy also noted the need to focus on quality over quantity and requested each member to analyze and clarify the reasons why enterprises have not supported this movement in order to have solutions for improvement in the coming time.
