Supporting workers
The DSEZA MARATHON 2025 running race with the theme "Connecting Steps - Joining Hands" organized by the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks (DSEZA) in coordination with the City Labor Federation and Lao Dong Newspaper on December 21st brought a very special performance.
That is the fact that the Da Nang City Labor Federation - in addition to sponsoring the prize - also organized the awarding of 20 gifts, each worth 1 million VND in cash, to 20 union members and workers in particularly difficult circumstances at units: Mien Trung Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company; UAC Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Foxlink Da Nang Electronics Co., Ltd.; Fujikura Automotive Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Premo Vietnam Co., Ltd.; CCI Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Germton Industry One Member Co., Ltd.
Ms. Bh'riu Ngoi - a Co Tu ethnic person, currently working as a worker at Mien Trung Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company - is one of the 20 union members who received gifts. Unable to hold back her emotion, she shared that she came from western Da Nang to the city to rent a room to work as a worker.
In addition to supporting herself, every month she also sends money to raise her elderly mother, so life is very difficult.
Recently, she also had a work accident (hand clipped, tendon severed), and had to be hospitalized for surgery, making her situation even more difficult.
I don't know what else to say but thank you to the Trade Union organizations at all levels for always caring, taking care of and supporting me over the past time" - she said when receiving the gift.
Ms. Tran Thi Thuy - another member of Mien Trung Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company - also received support in this phase. Her situation is also no less difficult: her husband passed away, living in a rented house, prolonged health decline, causing precarious work, unstable income. Receiving a gift at the DSEZA MARATHON 2025 Running Race, tears rolled down her cheeks.
Not only this year but before that, due to difficult circumstances, every year I receive gifts from trade union organizations at all levels on many different occasions. Every time I encounter difficulties, I look forward to the Trade Union organization" - Ms. Thuy expressed.
Diversifying forms of care
According to Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation, in the past time, Da Nang trade union levels have synchronously deployed activities to care for union members and workers in difficult circumstances with many diverse and practical forms.
In addition to "Trade Union Home", other typical programs such as "Tet Sum vay", "Trade Union Tet Market", "Workers' Market", "Thank you workers", "Trade Union Bus", "Trade Union Meal"... have become brands, bringing specific benefits to union members. In the period 2023-2025 alone, there have been over 82,500 turns of union members and workers being cared for with a total budget of over 395 billion VND.
In addition, occupational safety and health (OSH) work is always focused on through close coordination with the government and employers. Activities such as mobilizing workers, civil servants and laborers to promote initiatives and improve the working environment; training occupational safety skills; organizing fire and explosion prevention drills and promptly visiting, giving gifts, and encouraging workers who have had occupational accidents and serious illnesses have been regularly implemented. The City Labor Federation also coordinated to organize the Launching Ceremony of the Action Month on OSH and the City-level Excellent OSH Contest.
Fund sources and capital sources managed by the Da Nang City Labor Federation have been deployed and expanded, helping union members and workers partly solve difficulties and feel secure in their work. Typically, the Fund for Supporting Poor Workers and Employees, with a rotating capital of more than 64 billion VND, has solved loans for 2,195 union members. The capital source of the Da Nang City People's Committee entrusted through the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies also created conditions for 2,368 officials and civil servants to borrow with an amount of 123.36 billion VND.
It can be seen that the work of caring for union members and workers of the Da Nang Trade Union organization has achieved comprehensive and practical achievements. Impressive figures on legal support, the rate of signing collective labor agreements, along with hundreds of billions of VND mobilized for social security programs have affirmed the representative role and effective protection of the organization.
