Many intellectual workers say they not only have to compete with the younger generation of personnel but also face the risk of being replaced by AI if they do not constantly learn and adapt.
Ms. Le Thi Tam (32 years old, Hanoi) - marketing staff - said that the strong development of AI recently makes her worried about her career future.
“Previously, we only competed with young people, but now we have to compete with AI as well. The older you get, the more you have to try to become excellent, surpass AI, otherwise it is very easy to be eliminated” - Ms. Tam shared.
According to Ms. Tam, currently many AI tools can support or replace part of the work of marketing staff as well as many other positions in the business. This makes companies willing to cut staff and switch to using AI to save costs.
Not only capable of handling many tasks, AI is also increasingly accessible and even has many free versions. Ms. Tam said that although using the free version, the AI's capabilities still surprised her.
What AI can do now is equivalent to the level of an employee with at least one year of experience" - she said.

Previously, AI mainly supported writing content and often had to pay a fee to use. However, nowadays, many AI tools can create images, write scripts or build content in a short time.
The time for AI to finish a photo or write a script is only about 15 minutes, while if I do it myself, it takes me at least two hours" - Ms. Tam said.
To adapt to this change, the female employee believes that employees need to actively learn and turn AI into a support tool instead of seeing it as a competitor.
“Although it is AI, it still needs human operation to be effective. I proactively learn many different AI tools to combine and create the best results, something that an AI individual can hardly do” - she said.
In addition to improving technology skills, according to Ms. Tam, current employees also need to become more flexible and versatile in their work.
If I see anything I can do besides the main task, I am willing to accept it. This way helps me score better in the eyes of superiors" - she shared.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Pham Van Hai, a communications staff, said that he is having to "live with" AI in his daily work.
Writing scripts, creating short videos, making illustrations, chatting with customers..., AI can do almost everything now. My department used to have 5 people, but now it only needs 3 people plus AI to operate effectively" - Mr. Hai said.
According to Mr. Hai, in the context of AI becoming increasingly popular, workers need to learn how to master this technology.
In my office, everyone uses AI as an essential part of completing work," he said.
However, to create a competitive advantage, Mr. Hai believes that workers should focus on developing skills that AI cannot yet replace.
Confident communication, acting ability, improving foreign languages, photography skills, video recording... are factors that help me stand out more than others as well as AI. These are all things that AI cannot do at the present time" - Mr. Hai shared.
In the context of rapid technological development, many office workers believe that constantly learning and adapting to AI will be an important factor in helping them maintain their position in an increasingly competitive labor market.
