On September 22, according to Lao Dong's source, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province has just issued a Decision regulating cases where people with houses under their ownership but far from their workplace are entitled to social housing support policies.
According to the new regulations, in the case of subjects eligible to buy or rent social housing who already own a house in Thai Nguyen but the house is 30 km or more away from the workplace, they are still eligible to buy or rent social housing, with the condition that the distance from the social housing expected to be purchased or rented must be closer to the existing housing.
This distance is determined based on the length of the road traffic route with the shortest route, self-declared, committed and responsible by the registered person. In case the individual owns 2 or more houses, the determination of distance must be made for all houses under ownership to ensure compliance with regulations.
The decision clearly states the responsibilities of relevant agencies. The Department of Construction plays a role in guiding and inspecting the implementation of regulations.
Departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of wards and communes monitor, inspect, and coordinate to guide related contents.
Investors of social housing projects and works shall base on the provisions of Article 3 to review documents and make a list of subjects eligible for purchase or hire-purchase.
Buyers and tenants must self-identify and commit to meeting the conditions before registering. If they are found to not meet the conditions, social housing will be revoked according to Clause 10, Article 88 of the Housing Law No. 27/2023/QH15.
This regulation takes effect from September 10, 2025 to May 31, 2030.
