The determination of a girl from the countryside
Understanding her situation, Ms. Luan studied very hard and passed the entrance exam to Nha Trang University. Through friends, Ms. Luan learned about the EPS Program, so she immediately took advantage of it to study both in college and Korean. In 2008, Ms. Luan graduated from university and majored in Korean.
In December 2008, Ms. Luan set foot in Korea. After having to change 3 workplaces, through 3 companies, she finally became a worker at SeMuyng Tech Company (Incheon city) - a company specializing in plastic production (car parts, bottles, Lego toys...).
At first, Ms. Luan encountered many difficulties due to many job requirements. Ms. Luan recalled: I am so passionate about work that I can do other peoples work, proactively learn how to repair the machine so that when working the night shift without a worker, I can still fix it myself. Thanks to that, I gradually became proficient, was recognized by the company and the contract was extended by 1 year and 10 months".
At this time, Ms. Luan gave birth to her first child, her husband was also a worker in Korea. After finishing their childcare leave, the couple sent their child back to Vietnam to their grandparents and grandparents to take care of and continue to Korea to work.
When preparing for the end of her 4-year and 10-month contract, Ms. Luan decided to return to Vietnam and determined to take the Korean exam to return to Korea.
After returning to Vietnam for 3 months, Ms. Luan took the exam and achieved the maximum score, then applied to return to her old company. When she returned, she was able to work in the position of goods inspection, sample inspection and import-export inspection of the office with 3 other Koreans.
"Thanks to my continuous efforts, I am an excellent foreign worker who received a certificate of merit from Incheon city and a certificate of merit for good labor from the Ministry of Labor" - Ms. Luan said.
Continuously learning and striving, Ms. Luan rose to become the manager of 2 Koreans in the office, then took the position of department head. In 2015, Ms. Luan took the position of department head and successfully changed her E7 visa. At the same time, she pursued a cultural and social class to get a 6th grade citizenship certificate with the desire to exchange it for an F2... visa.
New start in Vietnam
In early 2019, despite the opportunity to become a citizen and have a stable job, Ms. Luan and her husband still decided to return to Vietnam to start a new journey.
During her time working in Korea, when invited to cooperate by a partner, Ms. Luan decided to contribute capital to establish a joint stock company in Vietnam, specializing in distributing Korean cosmetics and functional foods (January 2020).
In the first phase, the company had only 4 employees and encountered many difficulties, especially when the COVID-19 epidemic broke out. Not discouraged, she opened a large store in Ho Chi Minh City as a direct sales and distribution point for products. Thanks to her efforts and perseverance, she gradually expanded her market, received many cosmetic processing orders, with annual revenue reaching more than 50 billion VND.
"Thanks to the cosmetic brands successfully processed by my company for many famous businesses, more and more customers are coming to cooperate.
I also decided to invest in 2 more subsidiaries of mine: One specializing in high-tech beauty, distribution, wholesale and retail of cosmetics; one specializing in commercial consulting for Korean - Vietnamese goods. The revenue of these two companies is an average of nearly 10 billion VND per year" - Ms. Luan shared.
Currently, Ms. Luan creates jobs and stable income for 20 employees, with a salary of 10-20 million VND/month depending on the position. Ms. Luan aims to have 30 employees by the end of 2025, with total revenue reaching over 100 billion VND/year for large companies and adding 10 more employees to 2 small companies.
