According to the leader of the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor, the Nam Dinh Trade Union Legal Consulting Office has 17 members, has been in operation for 10 months and has brought practical results.
The office welcomed union members and workers to provide legal advice and direct legal support to 495 people, via phone to 95 union members and grassroots union officials, and in writing to the Y Yen District Labor Federation to resolve the recommendations of 42 district school accountants.
In particular, the consulting office has accompanied 3 workers who were fired and had their salary deducted by the enterprise to receive full salary back according to regulations; 2 workers whose labor contracts were terminated at will; and a group of ethnic minority workers whose documents were not accepted after the probationary period to easily apply for jobs at other enterprises.
Ms. Dao Xuan Thanh Huyen - Head of the Nam Dinh Trade Union Legal Consulting Office - said that at first, when it was put into operation, union members and workers were informed about the legal consulting office, members in the office printed and distributed 20,000 leaflets and stickers introducing functions and tasks. Then, they directly go to the workplace, industrial park and places with many workers staying.
After a while, more and more union members and workers come to legal consulting offices, with many different contents that need to be consulted, answered and supported. In particular, focusing on some contents such as the regulation on the establishment of member trade unions and department trade unions; regulations on trade union financial expenditures; the regime that employees are entitled to when the labor contract is terminated; the content of the labor contract signed with cooking work in schools; employees who want to pay an additional 3 months of social insurance at school; employees who are on unpaid leave but still want to become union members are entitled to the regime that employees are entitled to when their fingers are broken by a company machine...
In each case, the legal consulting office listens and shares to grasp detailed information, then there will be a specific direction for consulting. Many union members and workers have had their problems resolved, some have received full salaries when they were fired by businesses" - Head of the Nam Dinh Trade Union Legal Consulting Office shared.
Mobile legal consulting
In the work of organizing legal consultancy in enterprises with a large number of workers, a number of legal consulting groups have organized mobile consultancy for more than 1,500 union members and workers in the city and the districts of Giao Thuy, Nghia Hung, Y Yen, Industrial Parks Trade Union, etc.
Regarding the termination of the labor contract, annual leave, salary, maternity, work accidents, long-term illness, judicial records borrowing, etc., the Legal Consulting Office has organized 4 mobile legal consultations for 1,030 workers and union officials.
Regarding the training and fostering of professional skills for consulting and legal support staff, the Legal Consulting Office has advised the Standing Committee of the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor to organize 5 training courses to foster professional knowledge for 328 staff working as union consultants at all levels.
In addition, before a number of collective work stoppages in early March 2025, the Legal Consulting Office accompanied the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor to directly dialogue with workers, creating sympathy between workers and enterprises, towards stabilizing production.
